Seems like a good price, but who does all that work for a SAS only to put a Dana 30 up front? Idk if that’s any stronger than the stock IFS lol. Also what’s the point of replacing the rear Toyota 8” with a Dana 44? Like I said it still seems like a good deal, just kinda weird choices for the axles.

Maybe so lol but that looks like a crawler build, so Dana 30/44 seem like odd choices. They might as well have just bought an XJ.

Anyway I’m not trying to knock the seller or anything I just though D60/14B was the go to for SAS builds to make all the costly fab work worth it.

I'd certainly be pretty dissatisfied with a 30 front, 44 front and rear would be acceptable a least.

Is the Dana 44 any better than a Toyota 8.4”? I’d think it’d be pretty close, maybe not enough to justify a swap but I’m not sure.

They're fairly close yeah. But if you're swapping a front in it is cheaper to keep the 5lug axle shafts usually and match it with a 44 5lug rear unless you get lucky and get a 6 lug waggy 44 front.

Dimensions of shafts and gears are similar and strength wise they're about the same.

RCVs for a Yota 8" front and D44 front actually use the same birfield internals so even a built axle is a wash.

That said the newer jeep stuff is 32 spline and a little beefier in terms of housings and knuckles

Remember to change your air filters (home and auto).

Cheaper buying in bulk at HD.

Even the power supply was cool.
I still like the HK sub. I've had a few, such a good design. No wonder it's part of MoMAs premanent. Always reminded me of something out of The Abyss.

Just grabbed a new cabin filter for the VW. First time using a charcoal one.
