Selling 2017 TRD Off-Road to Carmax this afternoon. Does anyone want anything that Carmax doesn't need or will not miss?

For example I am keeping the all weather mats and bed mat, will post that in the for sale section soon.

I would keep it for you if it was aluminum.

I'd get a quote only and see who in town beats CarMax quotes. I got a quote for my 2003 Explorer months ago and then saw an ad from local Chevy dealer stating they will beat CarMax by $500 bucks guaranteed. I showed them my written quote and they took the Explorer and I got $500 more dollars just like that. Just a thought...

    Great advice.

I'm not hiding anything. Carmax offered $35,000. It has 34,600 miles. 4 door 4X4 with Premium, sunroof, etc. I've watched the offer fluctuate since last July where the high was $36,000 and the low was $29,000.

I'm looking to forward some favors. These things will not be expensive. I also have the TRD Pro Suspension (2nd Gen with external rear reservoirs) sitting new in a box. I was waiting to wear this suspension out a little and never got around to it...

I may be wrong, but after you get a quote from CarMax, you may not be able to alter the vehicle since it was appraised as is. Example: take off good tires and place worn upon handing it in...things like that. I remember something like that on my paperwork....

CarMax's FAQs answered, including how we choose our cars

If you have an online offer, an additional appraisal isn't needed unless the offer is no longer valid. We use the same appraisal criteria online and in-store, and every car's condition is verified in person when an online offer is redeemed. We only adjust online offers if a car's condition differs from the information we received online.

They will do an inspection and compare it with the online information and adjust accordingly.

Agreed. Not doing anything like that.

And it was an online quote.

Just small random parts that no one has ever cared about when trading in a car that members here might want. Like the bed tie downs or front rail.

Actually...I'm sure that someone wants these things and there is no point in forwarding them to some random Carmax buyer instead of tacomaworld brethren. I bought a V90 T6 Polestar and picked up a V60 Polestsr through European delivery. No one is trying to bank on accessory sales here.

Also, the last time I sold anything on tacomaworld it was a set of new take off rims and tires from my 2009. I sold them for less than the cost of new tires and even drove 2 hours north to make delivery easier. I also remember leaving in the TPMS sensors and writing the codes down so they just needed programming without tearing them down.

Comments like these are what I won't miss about tacomaworld.

No, because you know carmax is paying you for the minimum value of the truck and not the extra accessories.
