A little off topic but how much more work would it be to replace the oil pump and seals while doing the timing belt and water pump. The oil pan needs to come off for the turbo oil return anyway. I'm also considering a new radiator. I've been finding pink powdery reside around the top radiator mounts that's got me anticipating cracks

I really doubt you need an oil pump, but it's a bit of work to dig out, youd be most of the way there though already

I've got a bit of an oil leak/leaks on the drivers side that i haven't been able to pin point that drives my OCD nuts.

When I was swapping in a CS144 I blindly loosened a bolt I thought was the lower alternator bracket. Turned out to be an oil pump bolt so I snugged it back up and hoped for the best. Anyway, maybe check in that area.

Still sifting may way through this gigantic thread of good info, but haven't found much in regards to Precision wastegates outside of a few posts. What is the general consensus?

Specifically looking at https://shop.precisionturbo.net/pte-gen2-39mm-wastegate-1-bar-15-psi-dual-port-top, which appeals to me more the the Tial f38 simply because it comes with a full set of springs to start and potentially grow with. The f38 it looks like you can choose a starting PSI spring (5.8 being the lowest...I found anyway) but then have to buy the additional spring kit if you want to adjust.

Appreciate in advance any info. Now back to page 102 to continue my research!

Pte is good stuff. Most modern wastegate kits come with multiple springs. Tial, TurboSmart, Pte. Skip the Ebay/cheap knock off brands. Only consider gates from reputable shops.

I was going to say lots of wastegates come with multiple springs. I was sad my TiAl only came with one spring but they are cheap enough it's not a big deal I think Zanes got the same one I do but his came with multiple spring if Im remembering correctly

I got some nice fat 1" clamps for the BOV plumping today and a couple of those 3/4 to 3/8ths tees
    IMG_20230316_222928.jpg
These clamps are 3/4" thick and look pretty decent

I've got a couple springs, I'm tossing a 3psi spring in the gate, I've got a 4 port boost solenoid and closed loop boost control so I can go higher than double and I don't expect to go higher than 10psi for a bit anyway. If you need a spring lemme know, I might have one for ya.

Mine came with a 5.8 spring but I'm not sure if that is PSI or the other one (in/hg?) . I believe the next step down is 4.something I was planning on finding one. If you have one that would be awesome.

That's 5.8 psi. 5.8 bar is over 80psi. Bar is barometric pressure.

Yea, all I could find to purchase currently was single spring kits but noticed in pictures around forums some people had full spring kits with theirs so was confused. I am going to go Tial with the 4.x spring to start (learn and dial in first, plus the anodized red color to match the truck!) and then MBC/EBC up from there when the time comes, planning for meth during that phase as well.

Looking at CX racing their manifold/crossover/DP kit isn't available until ~April now, I have emission due in June too, so my plan is to pass that while stock one last time and then its go time for the Turbo build.

china injectors replaced with oem 2j injectors. the difference in start up is huge. also driving this truck again makes me realize how gutless my new 3rd gen is

No need for a boosted truck, to make the turd gen seem gutless, I have an 09, stock except exhaust that I drive in the winter. In comparison, the 3rd gen is simply PATHETIC, what were they thinking!!! Only saved by a SC.

yea looking into magnuson kit already. to get one here in canada its basically 12 grand. then you need aftermarket tune just to make the numbers it should out of box. not worth it for me just yet. very disappointed in the truck so far tbh. went from a turbo 1st gen with autolocking rear diff and zero traction control to a gutless engine with no way to lock diff out of 4low and a traction control system that can never truly be turned off. waiting to see if 4th gens keep manual option. if so its getting traded in. atleast theyl have some bottom end power
