    Speaking of hype... :D:anonymous:

OP, be careful with offset. I'd recommend sticking with a 0 offset (or a slightly positive offset) to avoid other issues.
Check these out. Great prices and quality.

Please buy reputable wheels - also Please ensure they have the proper load rating required for your truck...... Soooooo many people are riding around on wheels they shouldn't be (at least from a safety standpoint) My 2 cents

NEVER skimp on wheels or Tires - IMO

I must disagree. There are miles of difference in strength depending on alloy and casting method, and with wheels you absolutely get what you pay for, just like anything else. On the high end you're paying for the brand, of course, just like anything else, but the difference between cheap alloys (e.g. knockoffs or "replicas") and properly engineered and manufactured wheels is serious.

If it's for street use, it may not make much difference, but for hard use or high speed impacts it's the difference between limping home or breaking a wheel.

Very happy with my KMC 535s. Not sure how close to your budget they are, but they were cheaper than SCS when I bought them.

Rims are rims, true, but rims are not wheels. I assume a wheel is what you are looking for. So you are not buying a no name from China? You will then buy a name brand made in China? No offense, but it sounds like you are the guy that goes into McDonalds expecting Filet Mignon. Not really understanding why you spend big money on a lift, but then want to go cheap on wheels. As in life, you get what you pay for. Good luck to you.

I agree with this statement, but I'm curious: What's the threshold, in your mind, that constitutes the difference between a cheap alloy and a properly engineered wheel?

To me? So long as the wheel has been approved by at least one of the known-respected governing bodies (JWL, VIA, TUV, etc.) then even a "cheap alloy" would've been properly engineered.

As an example; FSWs (knockoffs, replicas), mentioned earlier in this thread. They're JWL and VIA certified. They're also flow-forged so they weigh less than the OEM version, are .5" wider and have zero offset. At $200 a pop new, I'd consider that a cheap alloy in this day & age, but it's still properly engineered because it met JWL and VIA certification standards.

I had Rota wheels on my WRX for years. No issues, and they took some abuse. Not sure about their truck wheels but if the weight rating is ok then they should be fine.

Cheap isn't always measured in dollars. As you say, inexpensive is not necessarily bad - certifications (can be) a measure of quality.

    Wow
    That's a bit over dramatic

    What's the purpose of rims?
They hold tires at a certain place with a weight capacity
Nothing special compare to suspension where it base on what you're planning to use them for

What the difference to identical rims that are made the same, made from the same material, weight the same, and has same specification beside the price and brand?

Honestly you sound like you buy big brand products like apple or beats thinking you're getting more meanwhile there's Samsung and other smaller brand that can do the same for a lower price

Also you do know other countries build off-road rims too beside china?

You missed his point. Rim is part of a wheel.

    Cool stuff
I’m in the wheel industry so I stick with my statement …. Go with whatever style you like…. Keep in mind, marketing budget usually determines the price of cast wheels. To me Forged wheels cost the most due to the process. You want light weight/strong/expensive wheels , go forged wheels. You want light weight non forged/ budget friendly wheels, stay away from faux beadlock wheels with C load tires ? I’ve learned finish quality usually equates to where the wheels are made. Japanese QC is the best and they won’t even let a blem slide thru. True perfectionists

If you're worried about leg day I'd be looking at tires not rims

Steve, I agree with most of your statement above. However, I've personally purchased relatively expensive wheels over the years for my vehicles and have never had a set arrived that was flawless in my eyes. This includes a set of Work Mesiter M1s from Japan, Forgeline FF3C(USA), Rotiform STR(USA). Only a set of BC Forged was actually almost perfect when they arrived, but their tinted finish didn't hold up well to nicks from daily driving. I say this to say that no matter if it's a set that cost $1000 wheels or a set that costs $7000, they're never really perfect or as flawless as I would like. But being in the industry, I understand what's possible and what's not so I didn't let the small imperfection bother me.

Understand that dropping 7ish grand all at one time is tough (quality lift, tires, wheels) - and it isn't any fun buying stuff and letting it sit in the garage while you buy things over time. As much hate as I'll get for this, put a quality spacer (spidertrax) on there until you decide to make the next jump. You can argue that its hard on the truck or less safe, but when installed properly and not abused, you aren't taking any type of extreme risk.
