When did OP ever state he was troll fishing using his truck? Seems like he just came here to show his rod transportation solution. You think he's just driving through the lake with his lines in tow?

I've gotta be honest, I've only ever seen troll fishing done from a boat, and if I saw it from a truck, I'd be quite impressed!

I thought he meant I was trolling on the forum, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm not even sure how actually trolling for fish from the bed mounted rod holders would work. I mean, I have 4wd, but it seems like I'd still have a lot of trouble riding along the bank and I'd need to kick the rods out like a spider rod setup or something to avoid just dragging the lures along the ground behind the truck. I guess I could drive in the water. Seems like the bass might not like it too much after I drive over their beds and they might not be in a biting mood at that point.

yeah exactly lol I'd agree that wouldn't be very sportsmanlike, but I never saw where you claimed to be doing that, because you're not an idiot lol. I don't think the guy read anything, he just looked at pics and made an assumption. Whiskey brain starts early for some people.

Great idea op! I personally just don't feel comfortable putting my newly purchased rods exposed outside even for a short trip. But, for trips with 1 piece rods for salt....this makes a lot of sense and is practical!

A pointed missile looking tip would be more aerodynamic too!

This, I deserve. But for a deadpan joke FAIL. I don't actually think Charlie was trolling from his truck, but it sure looked like it when I first saw that pic...
