I have, but this also applies to internal combustion engines. Every time they let all the smoke out that engine is done. Now if you're lucky you can slow down said smoke from escaping all at once.

 

mine have slowed down, im also thinking that some one is also stealing my chickens. i started with 21 this spring, im now down to 6, and brand new feed bags, after my 55 gallon drub almost went empty refilled and they have slowed down a bit from 1 a day each to my 6 now laying 3-5 for my 6 hens now.

Was seeing tons of posts from new chicken owners in the US who don’t understand that chickens lay less or stop laying in the winter (it’s based on length of daylight). They also go into molt, which makes them stop laying too. Couple that with an industry wide egg shortage and, voilà, a conspiracy is born. These types of people have a hard time differentiating between correlation and causation.

That said, 5 or 6 years ago I switched from local feed store feed to Tractor Supply’s brand and my hens wouldn’t even touch it. After a 2+ days of them not eating, I switched back and all was good. Will never buy that stuff again.

 

This is exactly what somebody who is in on the conspiracy would say.

In the poultry industry, the length of daylight seems not to be a factor since the chickens are being raised in-house, some will even produce more than a normal one egg per day quantity if desired.
