I’m not sure if this is true in every region, but here in NY we’re hearing that M/T production is done. If you are waiting on a M/T and it has not been built or allocated, you may be out of luck.

The reality is that there are still serious parts shortages, and certain vehicles, trims and equipment will be very limited or unavailable.

We’ve also been advised that the only available access cab configuration will be a base SR trim with 2.7L 4cyl, 4X4 and utility package (no jump seats or sliding rear window).

The 4th gen Tacoma is slated to begin production in January ‘24.

 

Looks like you’ll see it very soon.

wow, I still have my deposit down on my MT but have been looking for a clean CPO 2020-2021 Tundra 1794 TRDOR in the meantime cuz my family is now expected to grow from 3 to 5 instead of 4 by end of year. the Tacoma was never going to be the main family car anyway so we haven’t totally ruled it out yet. plus a little concerned the Tundra will have trouble or even get completely stuck getting to our favorite camping spot, especially after this year’s CA deluge has undoubtedly made the trail even more treacherous.

guess it’ll be decision time once this hold lifts. anyone fit 3 car seats in the back of a Tacoma DC before? lol..

I had a daily autotrader alert set for Solar Octane MT nationally. I kept it going after I found mine just to keep tracking the market.

The most I've seen posted was in Dec about 50 or so Solar octane and about 250 total MT pros nationally. In the past couple of weeks it's dropped to zero. Last update I got, there were 11... 11 total Manu transmission PROs for sale in the entire country.

If you guys don't have an actual vin, not a build vin or commonly known as a allocation vin. You might be out of luck.

 

Any new updates on mine? 3TMCZ5AN6PM572918. I'm a little confused because the dealer told me yesterday they expect it in the next few days but it's not even visible in the Toyota tracker!????? Must be a good VIN because the dealer gave it to me twice after I thought there was a mistake in it. Again, thank you so much for providing this kind of support on this forum. I'm sure all of us greatly appreciate it. Coffee coming your way.

On a side note, while I was waiting for the Mazda MX-5 I ordered last year, there was an insider on Miata.net that continually (when he could) gave us similar updates we couldn't get by ourselves. That guy is a national hero now!

 

Yes, the M/T is going away, and it appears to be even sooner than we thought. I am glad I made a move to get mine back in August. In addition to this being the truck I wanted, I believe that it will hold its value even more than you would expect for a Pro.

 

I’m seeing it hit the dealer very soon.

Just for reference my truck had a build date of 11/22 per the door sticker and didn’t arrive at dealer until 3/2/23. I put a deposit on it in late Jan. I didn’t realize it had been built for so long and picked it up in 3/9/23. Is it normal for a truck to take almost 4 months to be delivered after assembly?
