you mean tune your antenna? i have a firestik and you can tune it by taking the top off the antenna and tuning it with a small flat head screwdriver, this has to be done with someone nearby with a cb from what i remember

when I first mounted my firestick I had it mounted to a bracket on the slide track behind the cab and wouldn't tune for shiat. I talked to a local
" cb god" and he said i had to get the mount up above the cab due to the composite bed. I then moved it to the top of my dog box as in the pic below and i'll be damned tuned in perfect.

Mine was grounded to the frame as well, as far as the firestick is concerned no you will not hurt it but the radio will slowly burn it self out if the swr's are to high. This is all info that I have learned over the years of messing with cb's and what I've been told. What is the length of your co axe cable, and keep in mind it should be in 3ft incriments.... 9,12,15,18 ft in lenght...... why.. I have no friggin idea. lol also tune your swr's on channel 1 then 40 try to get the swr's as close to the same on both channels. I hope this helps.

i think im gonna attempt it myself today.... it doesnt seem to hard just trying to figure out what "Use a center ounch to stake the setscrews. This is done by placing the shifter extension flat in a vice or on an anvil and tap the metal just outside of the threaded hole that the setscrew goes into. Take care not to damage the tip ball. This will peen the opening over and permanently lock the setscrews into the shifter so they cannot back out" means.

Your better off having a place do it.. If you screw up the seal putting it back in you just wasted your time. There is a special tool you can buy to slam the seal in there with out damaging it but i couldnt tell you how much it is.
