I wouldn't be surprised to see the 3cyl turbo in the Tacoma.

Seems pretty unlikely these will be the powertrains used on the '24 Tacoma. 2.4l turbo and the 2.4l turbo-hybrid are virtual locks.

All I can say is I’m glad I got my V6 Tacoma when I did. I don’t want some dinky 4 banger corolla engine in a much bigger vehicle

Nothing will ever beat the feeling when the 3.5L VVTI or whatever kicks in at 3500RPm+

I don’t really give a damn about getting “smoked”. It’s still a 4 banger car engine. I’m just fine with my V6. Did I trigger you or something? Lol

And actually my Tacoma makes 307 hp and 293 lb ft of torque on 87 octane so it’s still pretty competitive in the segment

I'm just waiting for @ROBMOTIVE to give us the true scoop on the 4th gen. He knows everything about Tacomas, and no one else even comes close to his level of knowledge of the Tacoma (and trucks in general).

I have heard the 2.7 carries over for 2 model years only, the V6 carries over but dont know for how long, the 2.5 hybrid from the highlander will be available and the 2.4t hybrid max will be an option on some trims unless it is standard on Pro and only available in that trim

It will use two of their Dynamic Force engines…there isn’t a 1.8L, so not happening.

A25 family and T24A are the ones you’re going to see….

you think it’s gonna to work harder than the V6? The torque on the 4 (Highlander spec) is 44 lb ft more than the 3.5 (which is what gets it up and moving). I imagine when putting this engine in the truck engineers will tweak it to produce even more torque than the 309 in the Highlander

I think they should disguise mules as...mules. As in the animal. But put the head of the mule at the ass end of the truck and put the ass of the mule at the head end of the truck to really throw people off.

    Thoughts?

Supercharged? The factory 2.4T makes more torque at 1500 rpm than the 3.5 does at 5500. I’ll take the car motor any day.

Didn’t even look at what sub forum this is. The thread is called “4th Gen Tacoma.” I’m here because I’m interested in upgrading.
