valid point. Nothing is usually great out of the box though, there’s always something for any product we buy that can be improved upon. I also believe that anyone that leaves things stock is probably a boring person

A manual transmission also keeps you more involved in driving. I see far too many people on their phones while driving. A MT won’t stop that but it has to reduce it.

 

I feel that Reliability, Durability and Simplicity are factors that still rise above AT whether mods take place or not...

I’m laughing at the at vs mt argument.. most of you manual guys have had to remove the trans to replace the clutch and/or throw out bearing.. and yet you’re claiming it’s more reliable? The autos go hundreds of thousands of miles in trucks that receive no maintenance other than (engine) oil changes. I drain the pan and add some fresh ATF every 30k miles. My LC has basically the same trans too, so combined I have over 300k miles on the A750 transmission with no problems. (Aggressively knocking on wood)

and simplicity? I put it in gear and leave it. and I have 2 pedals. You have 3 pedals and have to change gears almost constantly.

I do love driving a manual transmission, but I couldn’t help laughing at the discussion.
