 so in the end... it was installation error. Those are inflammatory words for when a product isn't at fault but not working correctly, yet your words are meek when the error was discovered to be self induced. No disrespect brother but I think this is quite unfair to the Aucar product/brand.

it was the replacement unit. First one the screen stopped working, and it was a three week ordeal with a giant hole in my dash and a rediculous response time, so when this happened you can understand my frustration. Plus I should get Browney points for following up and letting everyone know a and RCA cable Got pinched putting the unit in and unseating it.

Mine too had the screen failure in less than a week in my truck and now once again a year later with the replacement unit it appears I am again having a screen failure issue. Eric has mentioned that he wants to send me a core board to replace and I’m guessing that involves taking the unit apart to a degree to “hopefully “ fix it. I personally don’t think the first units were ready for public release with all the ongoing glitches and such but I suppose someone has to bite the bullet. Thanks for posting what your problem was and the resolution as that does help others trying to resolve issues they are having.

Does anyone with a 2009 have this unit and can confirm how they got the the back up camera to move to the head unit instead of the mirror? The cable for the conversion only show it being compatible for 2010 to 2013.

Sorry for the quality of the photo but it’s getting dark and on my phone and all but anyway, if you have this plug to the upper left hand side of your inner fuse box then yes the harness will work. That plug is for your backup camera going to your mirror and this is where the new harness will plug into then you route it to the back of the unit.3337666E-2C05-454A-83A4-AB56644A8C06.jpgEE9B1432-FD87-4B35-ACFB-A26B4D9460BB.jpg

Does anyone have a Samsung S20 or recently updated android that is having bluetooth issues connecting to the headunit?
Recently BT won't connect to my phone reliably.
I'm able to connect the headunit to other phones/devices with no problem.

I've unpaired the devices (both ends) and cleared cache, network resets, factory reset, etc.
    Nothing seems to help.

At this point the factory Headunit is more useful....

I'm know this issue has been discussed previously on this thread but I was unable to fix the solution.

I just installed the 8gb ram model and noticed my next song & previous song buttons on my steering wheel are flipped. Will the December 15th update fix this or is there an another solution?

For my front camera I used the aux video input on the back of the radio(yellow rca connector) and tapped power from the accessories and ground wires powering the radio.

I updated the main page and all the videos to include Gen2 for the newer model.

I have some people confused and tried a factory reset and wrong update of the original version and messed the unit up.

You can factory reset the Gen2 version.

Please make sure you use the correct update for your version.

Anyone with issues with their back up camera? I have the Gen 1 unit and haven't had really any issues other than problem solving in the beginning because its an 05'. Lately I went through 2 cameras both displaying "no video signal" is it the wire run under the truck that keeps getting roughed up or the radio blowing the wire? Every 6 months I cant buy a new camera...

Welp, ordered the new version last night. The latest Alpine Tactics video pushed me over the edge…

I’ve been looking at the emblem mount front cameras, and I was curious if anyone in here has had a good experience with them? There’s one on Amazon that seems to break before you even take it out of the box…

yikes, not good or reassuring. Wonder if it's the cam or the road debris messing them up

36D132CE-A18C-4AA0-B7FB-A10FCEA93B80.jpg Aucar sent me the new unit to try out and see what I thought and I could not get the backup camera to function at all. I didn’t want to have to replace my original with some aftermarket camera so I sent the new unit back and kept the old one. I could see that the wiring harnesses for the backup camera were different and the new unit was missing 3 wires that the old had. I tried my old harness but that didn’t work as the missing wires must not go to anything in the unit and those are the 3 wires to my backup camera so it was a no go for me. I did play around with it a bit and really liked some of the newer features like split screen carplay but again I wasn’t ready to have to replace something that currently works with the older unit. You can see in the pic my harness on the left and the new unit on the right there’s definitely a difference and they didn’t pin the new harness out like the old unit.

Before I jump on WhatsApp, here’s a question for the people that got the newest version:

Of course my instructions seem to be out of date. I can only assume they sent me 2 Wi-Fi antennas on purpose with the GPS antenna, and they all plug in? Is this what I’m really supposed to do? Gives me a lot of questions as to where I will stick them and if I need to install both etc.
