Stock length, I dont have any desire to go wider, only extend my wheelbase. I already have the JDFab subframe with the lower control arms pushed all the way forward and the matching UCAs so my caster is correct. If I can make the Solo LCAs work with my current coilovers my front axle will be pushed about 2" forward. I also have 5.29 diffs with a front locker to install that have been sitting in boxes next to the LCAs. Got a slightly larger project thats been taking up my time ha.

We’ll see how long the 4runner goes as is I guess. Figured going all out on the “bolt on” sans lcas should last us a while. If it needs to perform better we’ll just take the taco. Do need to build a front bumper for it this summer thoigh.

I was very tempted to buy Solo or BTF fabricated stock length arms to get the lower ball joint pushed forward for better clearance behind the tire. Being a cheapskate, I figured I would try the budget option first. I rebuilt the OEM arms with offset poly bushings and good quality ball joints. I ended up with 5/8" additional clearance at the firewall for about $280.00. They definitely don't have the same appeal as the fabricated arms but have worked well for me so far.

Lol, I might be needing the extra clearance from the Solo LCAs. These things definitely are true to advertised size unlike some other brands... looking at you BFG

@WrecklessAbandon Not really, it is the same process as rebuilding the arms with any other bushing but substituting the offset bushings instead. SuperPro sells offset bushings for the front & rear of the LCAs so you don't have to use the offset ones in both positions if you don't want too. The only trick is making sure that you place the offset in the correct location before you press them in. For max clearance, you want to have the rear bushing offset hole towards the inside and on the front the offset bushing hole would be towards the outside of the truck. This pushes the LBJ forward 5/8" over stock bushings. I also have my LCA cams maxed out and then SPC adjustable arms take care of the alignment. Without the adjustable UCAs I'm not sure that you could have the LCA cams maxed and offset bushings together and still get it in alignment. Wish I would have taken pictures when I rebuilt the LCAs.

The bushing part numbers are: SPF4347K & SPF4691K. SuperPro also sells complete lower control arms with the bushings already installed as part TRC482. In the picture below it looks like the front bushing needs to be rotated 180 degrees to give max clearance behind the wheel. [IMG]

Embarrassing but also a little IDGAF, there's has been a tswift cd stuck in my Ford since I bought it almost 6 years ago. Always a surprise for whoever is with me when the washboards or the "didn't think it was that deep" holes make it kick on.

Tried that once, but after 3 complete rolls doing 45 mph and landing on its wheels.... that damn Ford started back up and drove me 2hrs home at 65mph straight as an arrow and never even threw a check engine light. Pretty sure it was the Taylor swift cd that saved it.

Definitely, the Solo motor sports lowers with the lower ball joint moved forward an inch. Little bit more than the dirt kings and cheaper than the Camburg/TC stuff by a few hundred dollars.

    Buy Once, Cry Once.

That is the true TW motto

was hoping you would chime in. I couldnt remember the company name of those bushings, and I agree.. without SPC's, that combo would be too much I think. Also, did you already pick up new tires?

stacking/pushing the front another 1" forward for a total of ~2", idk.. sounds like you might start finding binding issues elsewhere. its not like the diff is moving forward with them too... might be too much.

I'm in the same mindset tho.. I dont want to go wider, so JD stuff is out, the Solo's are a nice option definitely. I have been able to get my clearance issues sorted mostly by relocating the cab mount, some cutting/hammering, using the Poly taco Tabs and running max caster, and getting the right wheel specs. I need to hammer/cut just a tad more where it rubs during a dynamic stuff.. but honestly.. max caster + wheel specs are a huge part of it.

I was in Taos a few weeks ago in the Taco. Had the wife, sister in law and brother with me and had a dude honking and waving then a thumbsup. Sister in law was just shocked someone would do that. And asked how often it happens. Well happened again like 2 hours later in the ABQ.
