Hello all I'm new to the forum,just signed up last night. I came across this thread while looking for Tacoma club rides. I found one posted on her for August 10th I believe. I live in Maine and would love to possibly hop on that trip. Any info or a link to thread would be great.

Is your truck bone stock or do you have some mods done already?

 

This trip to the north maine woods is 100% stock friendly. We get passed by subarus all the time. As long as you got your full size spare, send it! As long as there's meat on the bones on your tires, you're fine with stocks.

 

Yes that the trip is was talking about. I've been up north a time or two lol I'm rolling on a 3 inch lift with 33's falken MT's 10 ply ......only got 100 miles on em. Plenty of meat lol. I look forward to group ride. I went up to the iron works last fall beautiful country.

 

Last week's nor' easter, had to break trail on some of the back roads to get past a log truck in the ditch.

 

Little plastic tab that holds the tensioner end of the cupholder insert broke.



Nothing a 5x35mm stainless machine screw and Nylock nut doesn't fix. I figure I can slam a Big Gulp in there as hard as my little arms will let me and not worry about it anymore.

 

A few class VI roads opened back up in town recently. Not a bad way to spend a 40° sunny day!

 

Ordered some CV axles. 20 percent at oriellys

 

Truck got to be a truck today. 2 runs to the waste transfer.
Discovered the tsb leaf packs handle 2000lbs better than the stock. I was using the bump stops as an indicator of how heavy we were. The factory ones were bottomed out when I had a 2000 pound pallet in there one time. this ended up being about 2300 pounds and it wasn’t on the bump stops.

Just make sure they're long enough. Or you'll end up like I did and pull the axle out of the inner joint cup

 

Interesting? How do I make sure just compare to stock when I pull it out.

Also ordering a bunch of Amsoil Severe gear for the diffs and transfer case.

I'll need to order or go pickup some spark plugs, Pcv valve, and serpentine belt

 

no worries I’m gonna put the Firestone Airbags on myself. Figuring out a 10 ply 80psi tire that will handle highway well and do some off rd. This forum has been very helpful.

Yea, you might be able to find the overall length and compare to stock dimensions. I had bought car quest (advance auto) axles and they were too short.

(I normally buy lower mileage used OE axles from LKQ and just check the boot condition, threads, and splines when I go to pick them up, usually under $100 an axle)
