can only pick one

hey guys here the thing .. would you wait a month and get 3in lift but i would have to run stock rims and tires for a while . OR do you just not lift it and get tires and rims on stock ht. 2011 trd sport dbl cab. thanks for the help . the boss said i can only do one. gaaaaa

 

If you want a 3" lift do it first and get new wheels and tires later. If you do the wheels and tires first you'll be limited by your stock susp.

Get the lift first, then your wheels and tires.

 

Maybe a little, but in the long run you'll be happier. If you do wheels and tires first then a lift it will look that way always. You can also look at smaller lifts for cheaper, like the 5100's for about a 2" lift. Then you could get wheels and tires sooner since you saved money on the lift.

 

why not wait, save up and do both at once since you eventually will do both anyways. Doesn't make sense to get different wheels/tires without a lift if you will go bigger tires later after lift. Getting lift first with stock tires will not look right. Do it all at once, get one alignment, and fix any issues that you may have then. (ex: needing UCA's). Do it once and do it right.

 

Lift

 

Do the lift now, then wheels and tires later. Look on the for sale section here and on craigslist for a good set of used wheels and tires. After I installed my lift, I found my wheels and tires used in the for sale section for a good deal. Saved about $800 over the price of a new set of wheels and tires.

 

When I lifted my truck I had to wait a couple weeks for my rims to come in. It looks a little funny with the 265's but who cares. In the end wit doesn't what other people think, do what makes you happy.

The question you really need to answer is are you going to lift it down the road if you get the rims and tires first. If the answer is yes then I would go with the lift first so that you can get tires that will complement the lift.

3" lift & stocks will be fine. I did it for 2 weeks. check my pics

 

I would say to buy rims and the tires you want to put on when you lift it. You could always install the rims on your stock tires and save the 33's for when you buy the lift. You have a 2011, so you couldn't possibly need new tires RIGHT NOW. It should only take a couple of months to save up enough for some Billies and Eibach's.
