I will be going this route if corporate does nothing to fix my issue. I have an ungodly vibration issue that’s getting worse. There’s times it feels like the whole shaft binds up and makes the diff jump.

Test drive done , OMG it's like the truck feels new and tight again. Crazy how sloppy 200k miles feel. What else I can feel is the axle wrap , for sheezy. The axle wrap isn't too bad but it's there . Now to get that RAS suspension system next week . That's the deal breaker for me .

Double check your carrier bearing. Maybe even replace it.

Nah carrier bearing was fine worn but fine . The spline shaft was on its way out . You could feel the slop in the splines when feathering throttle in traffic .

Well I took my magnetic angle finder and from back to front it's within 10°. I need to find what degree stock is so I can possibly shim the rear end . Probably need to get a shim kit . What is the stock degrees on shaft anyone know if not I can run to the dealership tomorrow and throw my angle finder on a new Tacoma and find out .

No vibrations , just was feeling sloppy and harmonic vibration worn out . Blows me away my stock u-joints had no play in the u-joint caps . The needle bearings in the caps felt pretty good .

When I had stock drive shaft out you could grab the yoke by the carrier bearing and grab the rear end side and there was play in the splines .

So after some research I'm gonna wait till the road active suspension kit comes and I install. It could be possible that I just need new leaf springs period.

I mean if your leaf springs , like mine 200k mi , they could be worn out causing my leafs to have that bad of axle wrap. I do have a 2.5" aal which my leaf spring pack looks fine . But I do have my truck tuned , tb spacer , aftermarket coils, and rear cats deleted . Possibly too much trqs to rear end . Toyota didn't design their leaf packs to absorb aftermarket performance goodies .

Need to get your axle wrap figured out first.
The whole video is worth a watch; double cardan starts @ 17:06.

    Yes
Anyone that was debating double cardan pinion angle with me needs to watch that video - just jump to around 4:50

I think the only who was debating you was me; the guy who posted the video. I agree with you on the setup of a 1 piece double cardan; the pinion and shaft angle need to be the same after accounting for axle wrap at cruise. The video recommends 2-3 degrees working angle at the pinion during static measurement to account for lift of the pinion during cruising axle wrap.

Where I disagree, is the set up of a 2 piece double cardan, which the video does not reference at all. Unless I'm missing something...
