What springs do you currently have?
While mileage isn't necessarily a metric to judge the life of springs...how many miles?

If you're on stock springs with 200K on them...more than likely they are toast.

Yeah they are stock. Lol was telling my wife that last night , that they just might be worn out . Fyi my wife is my co pilot and we discuss together upgrades and repairs to the Tacoma . I give her reason she understands, she gives thumbs up for upgrades . I love my wife ,very understanding.

I definitely like the way my rear end rides. Question if your leaf springs are worn out and the axle wrap that is now created, could it cause shock to blow out / leak ? Specifically the driver side shock

So just fyi I have smooth operation from stop to 60 mph . It's when at constant power/ hwy speed I do feel little something going on. I need to measure pinion angle vs driveshaft angle see if they are within safe area . Then that way I cancel out bad pinion angle . Once that has been figured out , then I will know my next direction to go and FML figure out lol . This stuff is fun to me , I'm learning. Come on you walk/ drive in this case 200k mi and you tell me how lose or worn out you feel. Shit wears out . Beef it up lol

Here's an axle wrap video of a stock leaf spring, manual transmission 3rd gen; mileage unknown. So you can appreciate just how much it moves...

It's funny I've watched this video before but never really thought about it and yeah it makes sense. I need to get a camera down there and record and really see what's going on down there also.

That's a curious question shipping was 38 lb on the woods custom driveshaft after pulling my stock two-piece drive shaft it felt like the stock was heavier than the Tom woods custom drive shaft. I have my stock drive shaft down in my basement I'm going to go grab my scale out of my bathroom and do some math I'll be right back.

Okay I weigh 160.5 lb, with stock two-piece drive shaft I weigh 200.9, so it comes to 40.4 lb on the stock two-piece drive shaft

So yeah with the woods custom one piece drive shaft there is a weight reduction which I'm glad to figure that out.

yeah you’re missing it he specifically states at 5:26 ish a minute later that with a double the pinion needs to align with the shaft. as i mentioned before it makes zero difference if it is a two piece or one piece shaft. a two piece shaft changes absolutely nothing with the relationship of the double cardan joint which is behind the carrier bearing in a fixed position so tcase or tranny angles mean nothing in that equation. that is the entire reason for doing a custom double cardan two piece because it eliminates that relationship and resolves vibes for the back half which is where all the trouble is. call a shop monday.

In a fixed position...but can still have a working angle at the first u-joint. Something needs to cancel it...

So I had to prioritize and take care of my 200k mi needle bearing today .I did pick up a Klein digital angle finder this weekend. Hopefully sometime this week I can do some measurements.
