So we are now living near the Gulf Coast on the Florida panhandle.
I see an endless array of trucks and SUV’s with large offset wheels and tires. These are on all makes and models.
Trying to make sense of this set up. Is it for added stability? Just to look cool?
I am thinking the rocker panels must get shredded with tires so offset??
Not interested in doing this to my truck yet it really seems to be a “thing” here.

I don't understand it. They must all want to join the Circus Just like the ricer tire stretch group.

It’s a fad for people with too much credit and too little creativity, and it’s hell on suspension components.

It's for people without enough credit and/or the balls to long travel.

    True, assuming they actually off-road.

here it’s just a status symbol, or a way to make your standard 1/2 - 3/4 ton truck “unique”

I see more and more of this on the roads lately, low profile tires and lots of negative offset wheels on pickup trucks. I don't understand it, but it's evident some do.

I notice this every time I’m in the Outer Banks. I assume it’s mostly truck culture there but I also wonder if people think the massively wide tires will help them on the sand.

It’s certainly not my style but it’s always interesting to see what other people do with their rigs.

I went to high school in the late 90’s and the Hondas with big fart cans for exhaust were all the rage. It’s the same thing just 2020’s edition.

I saw a brand/nearly brand new Chevy 3500 HD diesel, modest lift for a full size, but low pro tires, wider than they were tall,,,, no shit, I doubt more than 2-3” of tire were actually in the wheel wells. Needless to say, it couldn’t even stay in the lane, as the tires road on top of the road crown.
It needs a “come see me at the auto auction in 120 days” bumper sticker. Just wait…….

I prefer that look as opposed to what I see in my neck of the woods. A perfectly good 4 wheel drive slammed 2 mm off the ground with a hand painted scenic view painted on the tail gate.

Is your neck of the woods, the 90s?
