Hvac blower assistance please

So I just changed out the blower because the oe one bit the dust, wouldn't work at any speed.
Installed new one and new resister and the fans speeds are all different now like 1 in medium 3 is high 4 is the lowest, so I put back to oe resister and same thing,
I bought a new socket as well but the oe one looks fine,
Any idea what's going on?

 

Did you put an updated resistor pigtail in?

 

I bought one from my local parts store didn't put it in yet since mine looked fine

 

The updated resistor uses a different plug that's why I asked, some people wire them incorrectly.

I just got oe replacements fron my parts store don't have time to wait for shipping from the states for the updated stuff. It's weird my fan was working properly on all speeds till it called it quits on all speeds, replaced fan and now all speeds are different

 

That is odd if you didn't change any of the wiring, it sounds like the blower switch may be toast. I'd pop out the A/C controls and look for burnt or melted connectors.

It was the switch and the connectors burnt a bit

No they aren't, make sure you fix the connector too or it will likely burn up again.
Any salvage yards nearby you? If there are you could go grab you a switch and pigtail probably pretty cheap.
