Texas motorcycle dealers

I've bought a few bikes and cars in my time, but never felt completely satisfied when the deal was done. Here's one I can live with:

Cowboy Polaris, in Beaumont, had a smoking deal on a 2010 Cross Roads. Since they were pretty much in my price range, I emailed on it. Everything posted was right on, no gimmicks, no adds unless I wanted them, no pushy BS. I got the go-ahead from my wife (she's a blessing I don't deserve!), made the deal then wondered how I was going to work the logistics of a 250 mile trip.
I have never, ever, in a million years, felt obligated to any vehicle dealership in my life, but in this case I bought the owner a bottle of Crown Royal Reserve, AND a bottle of high end vodka... they went way above and beyond. I highly recommend anyone in the area give Ron a call... I believe you'll be as surprised as I am.

 

Let me get this straight.........You just bought a motorcycle from these guys and then you bought the guy a bottle of Crown reserve and a high end vodka. Please elaborate on why you would do something like that for someone that is just doing there job to sell you a bike and afterwards forgets about you anyways. I own a motorcycle and have been riding for about 5 years now and the guy from the dealership I bought my bike from was a pretty stand up guy, but there is no way in hell I would buy him roughly $100 worth of liquor after I just dropped $16k on a bike for him.

 

My past experiences with most motorcycle, atv dealers have been terrible! Maybe its me that I expect too much. I am the person that buys either a new motorcycle or ATV every year and all I ask is to be treated with some respect. I never go to any dealer and just look at the bikes and leave without buying one but all the dealers have me labled as a "looker", they won't wait on me even when I ask to be waited on, they just walk away from me. I have to almost beg a dealer to sell me a motorcycle!
I think what it is that 99% of the people that walk into a motorcycle dealer are just there to look and be entertained and they believe I am there for the same thing, I have to work hard to convince them that I am a serious buyer.
I am getting almost used to doing that, but I have a problem of being treated rude the first time, its tough spending $8000 of my hard earned money and handing it over to a rude motorcycle salesman, but what keeps me going is the more love of the bike I am buying than the people selling them

 

As I said before, I have never felt 100% positive about a vehicle deal I've made. It just doesn't happen. Either the salesman tries some bullshit tricks like keeping the keys to my trade-in (I've physically threatened one guy who did that) or the finance manager plays his con games after the deal is made and I drive away knowing I've been screwed but can't quite figure out how.
I'm not gaining anything from my post- no freebies, no discounts, nada.
They simply sold me a great bike at a price I liked, without any games at all. That, in itself, while appreciated, wouldn't be enough to get me to post my thread. I'm not at liberty to disclose exactly WHAT they did, but I doubt very much that anyone reading this has ever received service after the sale at this level. So I bought them the booze knowing I was still way ahead on the money.

 

Still wouldn't have done it. I would understand maybe to someone offering me a service in which I was greatly appreciative, but not for something like purchasing a product. To each their own and maybe we need more guys like yourself so that these dickhead salesman start respecting the people that matter. However, those dollars you spent on liquor could have gone towards some accessories for your new bike. And by the way, congratulations on your Cross Country, those are some really nice bikes.

Dimonback I’m glad you had a good experience when buying your motorcycle, but I’m with Paul. The dealer would be more happy if you brought in more customers than getting liquor.

 

Thanks- but this is a Cross Roads. Same thing, but with a windshield rather than a fairing. It's my third Vic, and most likely not my last.

And by the way- if you looked up the prices on Victory-branded accessories, you'd see that what I paid for the liquor wouldn't buy a valve stem cap...;-)

 

Thats great you have a good dealer that treated you good and gave you a good deal.

I hate my local motorcycle dealers, but I still buy from them, I guess they figure they can get away with be a holes and people keep coming thru the doors spending money

 

Yep- my LOCAL dealer was like that... so I dealt with one 250 miles away.

 

I'm glad you found a dealer you could trust. Congrats on that new Victory. I've heard some really good things about 'em.
