Um no. The Wildpeaks are night and day compared to the stock Wranglers. If I knew the Wildpeaks were that much better I would have switched them the moment I bought the truck.

After reading up on them, I'm kind of thinking the Goodyear Ultraterrains might be close to the unicorn tires we're looking for. Pictures are nice and everything, but I'd like to see some in person on a Tacoma.

I would love to upgrade my tires to Falken or Coopers, but my stock Goodyear tires have less than 500 miles on them. My plan is to run them all spring, summer, and fall then upgrade them just before winter. Unless I could find a local tire shop willing to buy them for resale without beating me up too bad on price, do local shops do this?

I've had those on my Tacoma for the last 2 years and like them a lot. They are the most aggressive Non-LT tire I've found. If you want a SL tire with an aggressive tread they would be my pick. There is some road noise, but it isn't bad.

Unit59, I was in your same boat about 700 miles ago with my stock Goodyears. I asked Discount Tire about it when my truck had about 300 miles on it and they gave me a maybe $200.00, but would have to ask a manager and said I'd be better off selling on CL. I was getting a vibe they didn't want to deal with it as much as I didn't. I kind of abandoned the idea at that point.

Yup I expected that and I'll just run them as long as I can stand them, thank you for your input. New tires in the fall for sure, I can wait.

Be careful with Goodyear, their QC sucks and out of round tires from them are common..make sure you can take them back for new ones if they never balance well or cause steering wheel vibrations.

A few years ago I'd have said Wildpeaks but that was when they were price a bit lower than most similar name brand tires but now they're right up there with the rest of them. I webt with Cooper Rugged Treks this time and like them a bit better plus they're made in the USA.

What size rugged treks did you get? I've been looking at them online.

I went with 265/70/17's. I get some rubbing due to the wheel offset but I'm going to lift it 2".
