They should be worth ~$0.46 each. Buyout was $0.50 swiss francs/share.

But how does that translate to options since the price is now lower, but it’s because of the bailout? Is my options still going to be valid come tomorrow?

    No idea on the reference.

I use Ally, same s*** different toilet. 3.6% at the moment but they (Ally and Capital One) typically keep up with each other within a weeks timeframe or so, not worth using that as the deciding factor.

C1: Cash deposits at ATMs a lot easier
Ally: Has an investment branch as well (haven't use it, no idea)

Flip a coin, really. I have a brick and mortar for cash deposits, but you can do it through Amex Bluebird at Walmart too, that's what I used to do. Can't remember why I stopped, but there WAS a reason.

I’ve heard wealthfront and betterment are both 4% and up to 2m in fdic, so you’d need to spread around your millions
Someone had a code to get 4.5% on wealthfront for a few months.

    Re: Betterment:

Cash Reserve is only available to clients of Betterment LLC, which is not a bank, and cash transfers to program banks are conducted through the clients’ brokerage accounts at Betterment Securities. For Cash Reserve (“CR”), Betterment LLC only receives compensation from our program banks; Betterment LLC and Betterment Securities do not charge fees on your CR balance.

I can't tell from reading this or not if you need to ALSO have an investment account with them, which is 4$/month, but it sounds like you don't need it - it's just a way to get you in the door to their roboadvisor "Well, it's already there and it's easy".

No check writing/bill pay, from what I can tell, just transfers in/out from their website/your bank.

So, quick maths, US average annual income is 97.9K so let's say 98k. Assume that a total after tax of 75% is used for "essentials" (mortgage, groceries, car/tax payments, etc) so you want a 3 month emergency fund with a 1.1 factor of safety (this is my typical approach, by the way, but now I'm using US averages for the income and essentials spending), assume 60% take home after tax, health and 401k withdrawls, etc.

58800 take home, 44100 spent on essentials, which is 3675/mo on essentials, E fund of 11025 FOS 1.1 = 12128 round up to the hundreds 12200 is your 3 month, 1.1 fudge factor E fund.

    4% APY 488$/year
    3.6% APY 440$/year

Up to you if that extra 40$ is worth it to hunt for in your emergency fund (ignoring monthly compounding interest, at least)

    EDIT: Here's with monthlies

Jesus, you work for Ally? No account needed at either of those I posted, FDIC up to 2 million, if 4 isn’t worth more than 3.6 then we should look at 3.2% offers……and Ally is high on all the lists of next bank to fail. I was just giving options, no dog in this skirmish

I couldn't give a shit. Cap one is probably better objectively, they have cash deposit ATMs.

4 is higher than 3.2 and 3.4 and 3.6, but it's a matter of "is that worth chasing" - I'm not going to move my emergency fund around every 4 weeks between C1, Ally, Betterment, etc chasing an extra 20$.

My favorite part about all the banks failing is all the responses are "X% of our deposits are insured by the FDIC", nobody is saying "We have Y Z and A on hand, we are in good standing" just "You're safe by the feds if we go belly up"

Which, sure it's reassuring to an extent but not very.
