Yes because I dont have a wireless subscription with Toyota. I had to go to:
https://www.toyota.com/firmware-updates/download
and input my current version (in your truck's head unit push menu, Setup, on General, scroll down until you find "software update" and it will tell you your current version.
THen (on your PC), download the available update into an EMPTY/BLANK pendrive
insert the pendrive into your vehicle USB port and the head unit will automatically detect it.
Follow the instructions.
To install the files (4 total in my case), you'll have to turn your truck off (if its on) or on (if it is off, this was my case).
Life will be good. Updated my original "v1785" to the latest version "v1790". Bug fixes. Works fine, no changes noted.

 

Ordered and delivered under a week, looks like I have a project for today.

 

Swapped out the Westcott 1” rear block with the Icon RXT Stage 1 leaf pack. Much happier with the setup. Even got help from my new copilot that we brought home last Sunday. For anyone running the RXT leafs. What did you do with the retainer brackets? I currently just have them ziptied by the top ones until I get a solution (picture at the end)

What cut outs are you speaking off, not sure of I missed something during my install of not on mine.. they were simple bolt ons..

 

Wow, that's unheard of with these shields.

 

I did a firmware update cuz I'm a computer guy when I first got my truck and when I went to the dealer the service guy sounded pissed that I did it, I guess they get paid from Toyota for that so they don't like it.

Nice sunny morning. Decided it was a good day to throw on wife's rocksliders. Way easier to install then the Tacoma sliders from RCI. The top plate is also removable and they now have a mountain scene laser cut into them.

added taco garage DDM mounts on the left side of the dash. It should work out fine for what
I intend to add. There are some things to keep in mind when putting it on. WATCH their install
video. DO USE a number 10 drill bit. You may find the screws do not fit in the top plate. Don't
panic when you use the top plate as the drilling guide it will clean the holes up for a perfect fit.
It appears that the black paint makes them smaller. When you pull off the dash surround there
are three clear rubbery thingies attached at the bottom. Take care not to lose them, they keep
things from raddling.

 

I agree, just trying to spread the word if people are out there that are not in the know.

 

Inherited my great grandfather's S10 that he bought new in 1984. Towed it 400 miles back to my house.

 

Quick and easy install. No rattle and does not touch the cat.

 

They look great! I don't think there have been any issues with the 2WD version.
