IMO, it’s not what the brand you use but that you actually change your oil.

The filtration might be more important than the brand of oil too so long as you’re using the proper weight. Just like oil brands, change intervals are up to you BUT I’d guess too short of a change interval probably won’t hurt your engine but too long of one might.

It's almost like it's a struggle to find an oil that won't destroy these engine..

You don’t even have to change your oil if you are going to offload it by 100,000 miles. These engines, along with most, can get to 100,000 fairly easily. It’s when you get way up in mileage where the oil, filter and intervals will pay dividends.

I suspect many here that weigh in on oil changes, oil brands, change intervals, and filter’s don’t plan on holding their truck for 200k + miles. To their defense, it likely doesn’t matter what you do- if anything. That group is arguing with the group who are planning on getting their trucks to 300,000 miles. The do nothing or do little group strategy is not likely the best one for the 300k group.

I don't understand that oil either as their Dominator oil is probably some of the best injector oil you can get.

I’m asking you. Is your claim Amsoil is the only fully synthetic?

I just ordered it online through their site. Not sure about the engine oil, but the gear oil tests out better than the competition and I tow a lot, so it makes sense. 140 bucks for gear oil that will last 3-4 years and a 100 bucks for oil/filter that will last one year is insignificant against the ~$2500 annual fuel cost. Not ruling out going back to Mobil 1 engine oil next time.

Yeah, the Severe Gear Oil was an easy choice. Not so sure about the 0W-20, but giving it a go, at least this time.

Um, cult. It's like CrossFit. Wanna know if a person does CrossFit? They will tell you without you even asking. Same with Amsoil products.
It's a good oil but there are good oils available everywhere at a much better price.
Amsoil's business model is why there is extra cost. Plus, the lack of economy of scale savings. I read the history.

I switched from Mobil 1 to Amsoil and haven’t looked back. I still change it often. Truck likes it and I can feel it. Also overall peace of mind. I never had issues with Mobil 1 but 100% Amsoil Sig now.

I only joined the yearly fee because it’s much cheaper when you do. I have an Amsoil shop nearby and it’s $$$$ there. 20-30% cheaper online.

I used to run Amsoil but became frustrated with having to maintain a membership. Once I started driving a lot on a 2011 town car I started running UOAs and found I could have the same results with a factory Ford filter and Mobil 1 from Wally World. I have since moved on from M1 but have not gone back to Amsoil.

I ran amsoil series 2000 in my 00 600 ves xc when I raced my sled in the stock class that season. I had the engine apart between events to freshen it up for the next week. That oil was some of the best I've used. It became known as dominator awhile later.
