Bed Mat

Luckily mine was in the truck when I purchased it. I would pay up to $150 for another if I had to. They are more than worth their money.

I think those may be the same as gator bed mats. A buddy had one for his tacoma...nice mat.

 

OEM is the best and wouldn't get any other one of I had to do it over again.

I purchased the OEM mat a while ago; highly impressed with how a variety of "stuff" thrown in the bed does not move around with normal driving. Can not speak for the Rough Country version so would go for the OEM version unless ya can get the same validation about your other options.

Well maybe. But someone makes them for Toyota. These look a lot like Toyota mats and are thicker. and a lot cheaper. $99 shipped free with great ratings. I've ordered one of these.
Plus--- Rough Country has a LIFETIME warranty--- Toyota twelve months.

 

I don't think the RC mats weren't even available when I bought my mat and it was a hundred bucks.

 

Why do you NEED a warranty on a bed mat? It's a big thick piece of rubber with nothing to really break. I abused my mat while I still had my Tacoma. I tugged on it with lots of weight on it, spilled chemicals on it, dropped sharp objects on it etc and not one cut, tear or hole. Heck after my truck was totalled I took it off and gave it to my buddy with a TRD Pro. I think the price point of the RC makes more sense but not a lifetime warranty being the main reason why you'd buy it.

 

After purchasing my 2022 I had to move a bunch of furniture for my son. Actually several trips since he needed to move back home for about four weeks until his apartment was ready. Not wanting to scratch either my bed or the furniture I found a rubber-backed throw-rug at Target for $40. I cut it to fit and it even extends onto the tailgate about 10" or so. With it being rubber-back the carpet won't move but I can slide heavy objects in and out of the bed. When I don't need it it's rolled up and in a closet.

 

That's cause you'll need the warranty on Rough Country shit compared to a nice OEM one...

 

Depends on the cost. Seeing the gator vs my toyota one that was $20 more, I'd save the $20, and have the gator shipped to my door. Imo, both mats are of very good quality. Your paying for that tacoma logo.

 

I got my OEM bed mat from my [then] local Toyota dealer for $120 (including tax) back in summer of 2017. I would not hesitate to pay $135 today if I was in need of one.

 

Don't be so cheap. Pay the 135 and be done with it...

 

Both mats are of the same high quality, so why pay more. I guess it's priceless for some to have the tacoma logo.

 

The Tacoma logo adds *at least* 10hp!

 

The Toyota logo adds more HP than 200 lbs of sand in the truck bed.

I'm looking for a slab of rubber matting to cut to fit. $20-30 is more palatable than $100 or more. I don't need my mat to say Toyota on it.

 

I highly doubt you will find a large enough and thick enough piece of rubber for $20-30.
