All droppers eventually develop that play.

I’ve had the exact opposite experience haha but to each they’re own- I’ve had good luck with their alloy pedals and dropper as I mentioned- for the price I like them even more

Anyone tried the new Lyrik or Pike? Thinking of using my REI 20% off on a Lyrik to upgrade my Tallboy fork.

Anyone have the RockyMounts guiderail rack? Wondering if the tailgate contacts the rack when open. I have the split rail on my 1st gen but when I open the tailgate, it touches the wheel carrier part of the rack.

Haven't tried on the 3rd gen yet but thinking it might be the same issue.

I've got the Loam post and lever on my Canyon and the OneUp V2 post with V3 lever on my Lynskey. I feel like the posts are pretty similar and have both been trouble free. I think you can get like 10mm more drop out of the OneUp vs the Loam for the same overall length. That's kind of negligible to me though. I'd go with whichever one you can get cheaper.

The levers, though, I would choose PNW hands down. The cable routing and feel of the lever pull are smoother with the PNW. Honestly, I am disappointed every time I push the OneUp lever. I'll probably switch it for a Wolftooth Light Action lever.

Good, and bad, to know. If I end up paying the premium to go with a WT/BikeYoke/Fox, I’d hope to getting a premium product.
Yes. I’m liking the recent RS offerings. The current Fox, and others, are quite as well though.

I also used my 20% at REI on a new Pike. My dividend/rewards/whatever they call it now was pretty healthy so I pretty anxious for that sale.

Agreed wholeheartedly on the lever. WT/PNW only for my bikes. The WT light action has a slight edge in overall action feel, but the Loam is more comfortable. If I wore gloves all year, I’d run WT light action levers exclusively.

I haven’t tried the new V3 from Oneup, but the earlier iterations are just paperweights for me.

I'm on the new Zeb, it's a pretty damn great fork. Make sure you got for the new '23 Ultimate with the new damper and airspring. You're looking for the buttercups in the lowers and charger 3 damper. Both are significant upgrades.

I've got a '20 Django in the stable for my trail bike, they have very similar shapes. Threw on an angleset, taller bars, and Fox Factory suspension. She's super fun and agile. Also owned a Troy and Spartan from the gen before. I'm a huge fan of Devinci's bikes, they fly under the radar here in the US but I would 100% recommend.

Went from having Fox 4 Fox Transfers over the last few years to a PNW Loam because I got sick of finding parts and sending it in for maintenance/warranty. Best decision I've made for a dropper. Definitely nowhere near as smooth as a Fox but it works damn well.

I'm a big fan of the PNW loam dropper lever. Honestly, my Polygon had all Entity stuff (their house brand), and it all worked great. I have a Shimano dropper lever on the new bike and it's going to get swapped out for a Loam very soon. The Shimano lever is just sloppy, lots of play and it's pretty much brand new. The cable routing is also pretty silly.

In my humble opinion, the best of the cable droppers is the Transfer (there really is no difference between the black and kashima other than cost and cool factor). I've had a few Transfers and event they have developed play over time. I've never had one fail on me though. The only problem I have is a Transfer that has a slow return.

My buddy was recently looking into them. He almost bought one but then ended up going with a Canyon Spectral 125 Al instead. He actually came with me when I got my Evo and I saw the Status 140 that he looked at. It's a pretty sweet bike, in person. He had his Canoyon with him and I got to check that out and took it for a quick spin. That was also a very impressive bike, for the price. So that might also be something for you to consider.

I've been out of the game for too long, so I truthfully don't quite understand where those bikes slot in. They look aggressive in geo and components (big forks and resi shock etc) but they have somewhat shorter travel. So even though I guess they sort of fall into that same realm of bike that I was shopping, the Evo seemed to fit exactly what I was looking for. I'm sure someone else can explain how those bikes compare better than I can.

Good to know. Hearing that they all develop some level of lateral play has me questioning if I'd just be tossing money away by getting anything beyond OneUp/PNW.

The Wolf Tooth Resolve is still interesting to me though. I find most all of their products well designed, constructed, refined and functional. Their low stack height and short post insertion also means a I could run a 200mm post without question on my frame. Conversely, a 180mm from OneUp would be completely adequate.

It’s not bad. Just let pressure out of fork first. Rock shox has pretty straight forward instructions on their website for their shocks

I had a OneUp (Version 1). The price and customer service was great, the reliability wasn't. I replaced the cartridge and the bushings but it still wasn't reliable. I ended up selling it. I'm sure later versions were better.

I really considered the Wolf Tooth Resolve post when I bought my OneUp (I chose OneUp over PNW because they had a better black friday sale). I put a lot of thought into if I needed to spend double the price and what I was unhappy with about my PNW. I determined that I would only be paying for the name, as I have not had any issues or complaints with the cheaper droppers. I couldn't figure out what performance benefit I was looking for. lol

Haha you sound like my inner monologue right now. Both my kids are due for new bikes. I'm sitting here looking at the price difference between the OneUp vs the WT and realizing that with some of the current sales I could outfit one of my groms with a new bike using the price difference in the droppers.

Guess that about settles it for me. Continue running OneUps and get my little man a new bike
