Take it back to the Dealer from where I got it, or?

Just paid it off two weeks ago and an engine light comes on!
    As if the truck knows.
If you ain't making payments, your making repairs as the saying goes.
    Code says:Cylinder 3 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance(Port)
I noticed a slight loss in performance and MPG.

Should I take back to where I bought the truck or does it matter?
The Dealer I bought the truck from is 1.5 hours away, and I have four Dealers closer to home.
Would I get any better treatment from the place I bought the truck?

Most of the maintenance and simple stuff I prefer to do myself, anything I don't or can't do myself, I have an excellent mechanic do for me.
I'm not happy with bringing the truck to a dealer for work, but my mechanic is in the weeds and can't take right away and I use the ruck to work out of all day.

Not sure if this will be covered by the Warranty.
30k miles and almost 3 years old.

    Thanks

If in warranty, I’d go to a closer dealer. If out of warranty, find a good shop.

It should be covered under warranty. You can take it to any dealer. Do a little googling and find out which one has the better service department.

When Toyota Connected Services receives a message that you've paid the last payment, it notifies the trucks CPU to initiate problems.

You said the vehicle has 30K miles and is less than 3 years old, so this should be covered by your warranty unless there is a potential cause you have not disclosed. And unless you have a reason not to take it to the closest dealer to you, then run it on over there!

Take it to the dealer of your choice and get it fixed under warranty.

Enough said. Take to a dealer close by. Google for any red flags. When you do work on your truck do you populate the Toyota application? It’s always nice to document

Might this be under the powertrain warranty as well?

I think this is the code that usually shows up for the burnt exhaust valve(s). Hope I'm wrong though...

You are most likely right. But it is the exhaust valve not sealing, not a burnt valve. I have done 10 of these head jobs.

Outstanding that you paid it off, congrats on that part.

Based on age & miles given, there should be no reason this issue would not be covered under warranty. Definitely take it back to the dealer to correct. Hopefully not a major issue- Good luck

In your opinion what is causing this? Is it the valve seat or the valve itself? Never really seen an explanation.

Wouldn’t this fall under the powertrain warranty?

You should go to the dealer that has the best reputation for their service department. My experience with that code is that the right head will be replaced, which involves pulling the engine. My '18 did the same thing at 32,000 miles two years ago. Took a couple of weeks for the repair, but was fully covered.

I have not been able to figure out what it is. I know that the exhaust valve isn't sealing. I don't know if the seat is deforming, or the valve is. But the valves isn't bent. I've fluid tested the seal on every one that I have done. And it always leaks between the exhaust valve and seat.

If it’s still under 3yr/36mi warranty I’d take it to the dealer quick.

    Don’t delay!!!
