    What’s up all?!
Had my Tacoma for a couple years now. 2009 TRD OR. Finally looking to get everything for the lift, i.e. suspension, wheels, tires, etc.
I have some newb questions. I’ve narrowed it down to the Bilstein 6112/5160 set up with an AAL. Here are my questions:
With this set up, do I need upgrade UCA or LCA?
I plan to only go with a 33” tire. 35 would be the largest I’d go but it’ll probably be 33’s. Is there an advantage of getting a 17” wheel or staying with the same size as stock? Or is it personal preference?
Does the brand of AAL matter? I’ve seen some for $150 and some for $2-300.
For the clip position on the bilsteins. I planned to do the highest for a 2.5 set up. Clip positions of 11/9. Reading the forums though, nobody ever does that. Is there a reason not to max them out? Should I do a lower position for 2” setup?
Are there any other parts I need to make this setup work?
    Thank you!

I'd say you don't want to max them out because you'll have greatly limited you down travel or droop.

If you want to do things right:
If you go over 2" you will need new UCAs in order to have correct alignment. And yes you will need to get an alignment from most likely a 4x4 shops. A lot of places will only align it to factor specs.
If you go with 33s/285, it will rub, so you will need to perform a CMC (Cab Mount Chop). 35s are fairly rare on a 3" lift, so the general consensus, is its not advisable
AAL brand - Its up to you, so do your research. If you are spending the extra money on 6112 instead of 5100, you might as well get a new full leaf packs
Clip position - dont max it out as someone said. Just cause you can, doesn't mean you should
Extended brake lines in the rear - probably will need this.

If you are on a budget - keeping it under 2" and with 265/32" tires will eliminate the need for UCA, CMC and brakes lines.

Where ever you end up buy from ask them too. Try Headstrong Offroad or Wheelers.

    Good Luck.

Agree with all of the above. Higher clip positions ride like poop. The 6112 loves the middle positions - the closer to the middle, the more it shines. I personally have mine set so low that I only see a 1" lift up front, but it truly rides better than any setup I have ran before.

I wouldn't go with the cheapest AAL, but most are similar. Make sure the set comes with U bolts and a new center pin. There is one brand out there (Headstrong, I believe) that you don't have to break old clips with your angle grinder. If I did it over again, well, i'd buy the RXT full pack, but if I was buying an AAL again, the Headstrong set is what I would get.

I ran 6112’s with a ~2” lift. No problem with the UCA (or LCA). I did put in a sway bar relocate, it’s cheap and easy.

    Running 255/80-17’s. Avoids the CMC

I’m still running 5160’s with OME leafs. Added +2” rear brake lines.
