I recently did this but I’m having trouble getting the edge trim to stay on. There isn’t a whole lot of glue on them straight out of the package and i was wondering if anyone added some kind of glue?

FWIW I used a heat gun to soften the glue and form the trim to the most concave parts.

Here is how I handled the fender well.

I cut the inside edge, where the front and inside of the liner meet, all the way up to where I planned to bend it. I also trimmed off some of the material after the hard bend, but left the large hole on the inside to use later.

Then I screwed a scrap 1x3 board to the front side so that I could get a fairly straight bend once I heated the heck out of the abs with a heat gun.

once it was hot, and bent to my liking, I wedged some of the cut off pieces to wedge in there and hold it in place, while I went over it with a cold wet towel to cool it down. The liner now stay up without additional support. And bonus, it covers the bottom of the fog light.

You can’t see it in the pics, but on the inside of the fender well there is a bump that lines up with a rather large hole in the metal. I used the clips that the screws went into from the part of the fender I cut and poked a hole through the liner to use the clip and screw to hold the liner very securely. I might still be able to take a pic of it later if anyone is interested. There is also a 1 1/2” hole on the inside of the liner that was left intentionally earlier as well as the screw hole on the outside where the fender liner was originally mounted. I used zip ties to pull those tight against a couple secure spots I found behind the bumper. It holds very tight without rattling.

here is a pic under the driver’s side. I cut a little more in this side, and when tightened down it didn’t end up covering the fog light like it did on the passenger side. It still definitely serves its purpose though.

    and a few more.

I did the cut intentionally low so I could keep some of the design angles of the fender flare and some of the original dimensions of the bumper, while getting higher clearance for the front tires. I also used a 5” hole saw instead of a smaller one because most of the round curves on the taco are just under a 5” diameter and I wanted to match the original body lines the best I could.

You could use the same method with higher cuts. You could even take the whole liner off, and heat it while molding it against an empty propane or helium canister, or something similarly sized, and you could get it to mold to a pretty decent curve.

I'm diggin this "light" viper cut. Could you possibly share some info on how you achieved this cut. Thanks!

The difference is in the area circled below. The distance between the body line on the bumper. For a more aggressive Viper cut you get closer to that line, or cut on that line.

Understood. Thank you. Did you use 1" painters tape and cut below the line. The gap between the body line and where you cut looks the be about 1", but it's hard to tell from the picture.

That one is more distance. Forgot how much but I would guess 1.5". My normal viper cuts I do use the 1" blue painters tape on that body line. Just did one recently.

Nice! Too bad I don't live in SoCal, I'd just have you do it. Haha. I'll tape it up with the 1.5" tape and see how it looks. Is the fender flare on the black truck cut? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

I just did a very minor viper cut for clearance, you can't even tell.

I then zip tied the liner to the "big hoop" by the front bushing. It's pretty simple, no heat required.

If I end up needing more I'll trim more.

That's pretty genius. Has anyone tried heat molding Yota Liners? I think they're rubber, not plastic, so not sure how well that would work. As an alternative, if one were to try and fabricate some custom liners from scratch, what material would you use and where would you source it?
