What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

After 3 years of crushing my kneecaps on the tailgate, I finally replaced the panel with this nice aluminum panel with grippy powder coat. I chose this particular one because all the screws are countersunk so the panel is completely flat with no chance of bloody knees.

I got a Harrop E-locker from Mike, Mike’s Custom Toys. Great hombre to deal with. The locker came with the electrical wiring.

 

@LeakyAC walk towards the blue light ONLY if you need it. I started to enjoy recovery again (not saying I’m a PRO, but have done alright over the years) so I feel I will need it someday like I did in the past.

The ALSD on both axles do very well for what I like to call 90%. The 10% left over is all skill/equipped suspension wise, which I am still learning. Back when I had my 2nd genOR’s with lockers/Atrac, I thought I was invincible. Nope. Got stuck two times that I would care to forget, lol.

The only other reason why I got it was for Pre-Running at the desert. My second Taco was a PreRunner. Those days were so much fun. So I’m looking forward to shredding the Falkens(might as well) in the work truck. No jumps of course. Not for this Horse…yet.

I have to tell you guys a funny story. I used to walk Zuma behind our property where the private road is for the ranches with acreage. So I’m walking “zootown” on the road and that actor that was married to Lisa Bonnet(sp?), the water guy, got scared of Zuma when he approached us, as he was taking a walk also. I was like whaaaat, I thought you was a tough guy!?!

 

Love puppers! Zuma looks like a great guy. He's with Del and Bismarck now. Playing and having fun.

That was my first mod, debadging by the dealer. I requested it debadged when I showed to pick it up, he agreed to do it. Upon delivery it was not debadged so I walked…

 

I just measured my prop rods and they are right at 5/16” diameter. UnderCover doesn’t sell the holders separately, or at least that I could find. There wasn’t any sort of part number labeling on the packaging when they sent them out to me unfortunately.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you haven’t tried it already. Not easy to clean, but worth my time and centavos!!!

 

I have the Carabc CarPlay module on my truck and I've set my system to use wired CarPlay. When I first installed it I ran a USB extension cable from the unit out the passenger footwell, ran it under the console and up to the cupholder where I have my Cupfone phone mount. The first day I drove home from work I could hear the cable tap against the console and the noise drove me bonkers.

I bought this USB panel mount and removed the Qi switch as I have never used the charger and ran the USB input from the CarPlay unit to the switch. It gives me a much more OEM appearance. The switch itself reminds you it's a $9.99 shipped piece every time you use it as it's not exactly tight in the dash, but it works and it fits, so that's what I want. Ultimately I might try and find a USB plug to put in there when I'm not plugged in. Please ignore the dust and dirt, it's been a busy winter.

I'm still dialing in the unit, but I'm definitely closer. I really need to get off my *** and get my soundproofing project moving. Looking at these photos reminds me I also need to sort out my CB radio and get it powered back up and my antenna cabling routed. I've got a Wilson Lil Wil that I can mount on the roof if need be, so I figure I'll store it with enough slack in the rear cubby and run it out the slider if need be.
