Update: I only had the throw out bearing swapped out. Clutch and pressure plate looked just fine. The throw out bearing was coated in what looked like fibrous clutch material, dust and grime, though. So maybe clutch isn’t THAT far out. I’m guessing the bearing lost its grease and collected everything.

My 08 130k mi has a throw-out bearing squeal for the last 70k mi. The only time it's really loud is when you're in the drive-thru up against a wall. When something fails it will all get changed. Until then keep the radio on.

I did my throw out bearing, fork, clutch pressure plate and flywheel on my truck at 106k mile the clutch, pp, and flywheel looked good according to my mechanic but since I had already purchased them I went ahead and did it. From what he said the only thing that probably needed changing was the fork and bearing, the pressure plate was not worn down where the bearing hits. I’m the only owner so I know how I drove it, if I had 60k mile I wouldve passed on the clutch

Damn my clutch pedal was so stiff from the noisy TOB rubbing up and down the shaft

Doing the throw out bearing seemed to reduce some noise. However, I AM still hearing a faint whine/grumble that goes away when clutch is pushed in. Which makes me think it’s a different bearing: pilot or input shaft. Also, since having the TOB replaced I’ve noticed the clutch master cylinder, behind the pedal is leaking and I’m needing to add fluid. Having it checked/replaced on Tuesday. Also identified a light metal rattle in the rear of the valve cover on the drivers side bank. I’m hoping to squeeze these in under the 2 month warranty with Lithia dealerships.
