Oddly enough I see Hawaii plates in WA pretty often, I think they're usually from military folks relocating

This morning this late model Duramax dually with what must’ve been a 12” lift was blocking the exit from the cafe. He had these obnoxious strobe lights incessantly blinking on the front bumper, damn near blinding me as I drove past. Is this a thing? I wouldn’t think something like that is even legal.. what is the purpose of that anyway?

Anything is legal if you don't get caught. Around here its the same some days, dude bros with their clapped 2nd gen rams with blinking CB whip antennas and collapsed sun lightbars going off.

There was an Audi with Hawaii plates in the parking garage of an apartment I used to live in in Chicago. Every time I saw it, I thought to myself "that's a long drive".

There's an air force base here, can't imagine any other reason you'd ship your car over... like I would hope folks just visiting are renting a car haha

a relative is considering retiring to Hawaii and wants to ship their car over... I haven't done the math but I sure hope shipping cheaper than selling and rebuying an average late model honda lol

@0xDEADBEEF @Ozark_RegCab Newton County last weekend. These were the only floaters I saw on the Buffalo.

Backroads from Parthenon -> Shop Creek -> Kyle's Landing

Nothing is cheap there, everything is limited. We can ship beaters from Japan for 3-4k can't imagine going from Seattle or LA to Hawaii is gonna be more.

I suppose $5k on shipping from the PNW is probably a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of retiring to Hawaii lol

I don’t understand how people afford to live there unless they’re on an executive salary or something lol. The cost of living is insane.

People are so afraid of the cold here. Most people will only go outside if the weathers absolutely perfect haha. I was just about the only one out enjoying the snow during the storms we got this year. Usually a March weekend would be a madhouse on the Buffalo.

Give it another week or two. I want to go back and check it around the 1st of April -- maybe every two weeks as it peaks. I've learned how to get around Newton County on the backroads. Maybe I will go backroads to check on it.

I'm sure you have noticed how Newton County is a unique place compared to the eastern side. There is a story about an enlightened County Judge that went to work on it some 40 years ago using what he learned from Colorado.

I’ve wanted to go to Kauai
i haven’t been to the eastern side of the Ozarks that much; maybe only once or twice. We went to Little Cow Falls, Carwash falls, Haw Creek, etc. Newton county and it’s immediate surroundings seem to have the most scenic spots anyway. I like Crawford and Franklin counties a lot too from what I’ve seen.
