Feel like Fence King drives a vinyl wrapped Rubicon with that logo on the sides.

As a club, TTA has adopted Newton as our flagship county. It's beautiful and there are no truck-swallowing mud holes that come from extreme neglect like the ones in the next county over to the east. The trails over in the east have been rutted out by 37" to 40" tires to the point where they are almost impossible.

I haven’t come across any of those bottomless mud holes. I usually bypass the sketchier looking ones. Have you marked the trails/areas that have been most affected by this? I know you said they were concentrated in Johnson county and to a lesser extent, Pope and Searcy counties.

I see these pretty frequently on base. Certain European countries require US military use unique plates. They’re supposed to be returned before shipping the car back. But some people keep running them stateside for a few months.

It would still be good to document though I think, but yea it’d be a big time commitment. I thought the onus would be on the USFS to maintain trails since it’s on their jurisdiction, but maybe it’s so remote that they don’t really get out there to see what’s going on.

@CS_AR im thinking maybe the proximity to the Buffalo NR discourages all the yahoo types from tearing up the trails in Newton County. But even so, the Buffalo is starting to suffer from over-visitation. I think they’re gonna start doing a lottery system on spring weekends for float trips.

Have you ever been wheeling out in Van Buren county? They have some nice areas but also apparently have been among the worst effected by the meth epidemic. There’s a lot of generational poverty and addiction out in rural areas in the eastern and southern Ozarks.

The she shop is completely valid, but extremely uncommon. I've never encountered one in the wild
