Normally, I would not take pictures of a stock newer Camry, but take a look at the license plates on this one and you will quickly understand why I was interested in it. It has diplomat plates; I have no idea if this Camry belongs to a US diplomat, or a foreign one, but it could be either/or. It also has plate frames from a dealer in the DC area, which makes even more sense...

This Camry has a Ukrainian flag sitting on the dashboard, but that is more than likely due to current events rather than the diplomat's nationality. When I was in high school, I had a friend named Gertrude who was from Ghana, and her dad was a diplomat. The embassy issued him a late 1990s Mercedes with a huge dent in the left quarter panel, and that had car had Virginia plates. They also had a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, which I don't remember much about, but I believe that vehicle may have had diplomatic plates. The question I have is whether not any vehicle in the US with diplomatic plates has a certificate of title issued by the Department of State as well, or if it's titled in whatever state the diplomat lives in. Diplomats in the US (regardless of where they are from) have special Department of State driver's licenses?

Since you live in Jersey, where are you going to mount the front license plate?

When a car has US Government plates, is that car not issued a title? Like those foreign market Land Cruisers you took pictures of in Colorado. Does the fact that it's registered with those plates override the need for a certificate of title?

I know all our gov vehicles have titles (we buy bulk fleet. Over 600 vehicles). Funny you ask. Looking at Land Cruisers right now that get issued a US title so it can be sold here.

You mean that large group of 70-series that you saw?

I don't remember what they were used for; I just remember you saw a bunch of white foreign-market 70-series Land Cruisers in a parking lot in the snow, and took pictures...

Yeah, those are what special forces use for training since those are pretty much used everywhere but in the US.

Not sure. These are way too new to sell at auction legally in the US. Knowing the military, probably crush them or use them on bombing ranges.

Yeah, but what a lot of people don't know (myself included until recently) is that the Camry LE doesn't come standard with the blind spot warning lights and certain other safety features...

Chip shortages would be my guess; I thought until fairly recently that ALL Toyotas has this stuff standard. It's called TSS (Toyota Safety Sense). The new Tacoma that I test drove last year didn't have the blind spot lights in the mirrors for some reason!
