I think most (all?) leaf packs are "adjustable" (configurable is probably a better term) via adding/removing leafs. Is there anything special about the Icon RXT leaf packs in this regard?

I'm no expert, but I believe RXT is the only manufacturer that send an additional leaf when you buy it. So, down the road as you add more weight, you can make adjustments as you go for 3 different weight ratings.

Slightly differently, the OME Dakar heavy pack is the same as the medium pack, but comes with an extra leaf. Some people buy the heavy and remove the extra leaf until they add more weight in down the road. Personally I would rather not pay for leafs I'm not going to use immediately.

Speaking more with Deaver about this, the J66 leaf pack would be a good option for those looking for about an inch of lift but do not plan to add more weight. 10 thin leafs in the pack vs 4 thick leafs in a stock pack (with overload leaf). Stock leaf pack is about 1.680" thick, J66 is about 2.625". You are gaining the lift mostly from the leaf pack thickness. This leaf pack would be softer than stock, really not intended for any weight. Good option for performance, but not if you are on a budget or plan to use it as a truck still

Love my Deaver J66. Perfect for my needs.

Can't wait to see how it feels with the Hammers whenever I find the time to install them.

Could you elaborate? I'm considering J66 for the better ride and minimal lift on my DCSB but I'm a little concerned that lots of people found them to be too soft for this truck.
Stock weight? Do you ever put a load in the bed? What about bump stops?
Sorry for all the questions. :D Finding reliable real-world experience with these is a little tricky.

Looks like you checked out my build thread, so hopefully that helped answer some of your questions; but I just wanted the truck to be comfortable to be in. I ran the RXT's at first on stage 1 and found them way too harsh unloaded. I really had no interest a pack that feels like it turns every crack in the road into a pothole. They did ride MUCH nicer with weight in the bed, but 99% of the time my truck will have <100lbs back there and I wanted to set the truck up for my normal driving conditions and not for the 1 heavy thing a year I carry. The J66 is softer for sure, but tbh not as soft as I was expecting based on the other reviews I read. It was a very welcome change and it just feels right. Way more comfortable unloaded than the RXT was, so I'm very glad I made the switch. Mostly the only thing I transport are mountain bikes and you don't need a beefy pack for that. The stock pack would have been fine for my payload needs but I wanted a better ride + increased travel + a moderate lift. The leaf pack isn't the only thing to consider though with the ride quality. Shock valving goes a long way, and this pack very well might feel too soft if you have extremely soft shocks. I've always felt that shocks should only be as stiff as they need to be, and that stiffness can be your friend but excessive stiffness is the enemy. I'm running ADS 2.5's and have had my shocks tuned with 'the softest valving ADS has ever done on a Tacoma' (which are still a bit stiffer than the factory OR shocks, but with completely different characteristics) and I'm still trying to get this thing to ride a little smoother in the rear. Surprisingly, adding the bed stiffeners helped the back end feel smoother and I'm hoping the Hammer Hangers + 3.6" shackles that I have waiting to install will be the last thing it needs. It's really close by now but still needs a little bit of refinement. If I do need to carry something heavy though, my shocks are compression adjustable so I can crank them up easily to compensate. For bump stops, I'm running Superbumps front and rear and they're so smooth that the only reason I can tell they're doing their job is when I look back there and can see the donut where the dust has been removed from where the contacts the frame.

Yep, found your build thread after I posted my questions. Really appreciate the feedback. I think you've helped sell me on the J66.
