    your guess is wrong.

Insurance didn’t even talk about my solid axle swap, they just wrote a check.

Wanna go double or nothing on guessing my height and weight?

Ah, I'm a bit envious of you my man. Old enough to earn a decent paycheck, but still young enough to think a paycheck can get you the things that you want, before time itself teaches you the cruel lesson that a paycheck will never go far enough. I wish I still had that same zeal for the future.

I'm also intrigued by the idea that one would want to reside in an unincorporated area (Rio Verde for example), with its extra freedoms, cheap land, lack of municipal oversight, no HOA's or local governing body to tell you what you can do with your land, etc. while at the same time being upset about the disruption of a critical resource that is no longer being subsidized for you by your neighbors, primarily due to its scarcity.

Rio Verde in particular, is ousting its own inhabitants (current and future) as its own residents are actively revolting against the idea of a local, self-funded water supplier, claiming that it will create an expensive arm of government that will rob them of their freedoms.

But yeah, it's probably Scottsdale, and its own damned citizens being unwilling to continue to subsidize a community that does not pay its fair share.

This is the American way. If you want it, you better be prepared to earn it.

So you’re partially right. Rio Verde is a separate community with its own water and governing body, the Rio Verde foothills or corridor as we call it is a county island. And it’s not the citizens of Scottsdale as a whole that are causing issues with water, it’s the mayor. He got his feeling hurt by someone and is unwilling to work with the companies that supply water to the corridor. These companies have been able to buy water rights elsewhere but it’s a farther drive (Santan valley for instance) which in turn makes the water a bit more expensive. The corridor is mixed with people who have lived out here for decades on their ranches raising horses and cattle, and transplants from California and other states with failed local governments and you can guess which ones are demanding a more “civilized” area and which are opposing it.

For me, purchasing land in the corridor is more of an investment. The area I’m looking at is actually inside my fire district which is growing and developing to the point that we will be getting a big box store and some other conveniences in the next few years, which means property value will increase and i can buy a lot for $99k, build on it doing most of the work myself, and have a decent ROI in the future when we are ready to pull out of the valley all together and live in the woods. According to Arizona law, you can build a house with out a contractors license if you live in the house for a year or more before selling. If you build a house with the intent to sell but never reside in it you need a contractors license. Luckily I know how to do 90% of what needs to be done to build a house, onything id contract for is the concrete.

Also. The interesting part about the water is that the supplier owns the water rights to the property the pumping equipment is on, just not the equipment itself…that’s city of Scottsdale. The supplier has offered to sell the water to Scottsdale, just to buy it back at a premium and the mayor still doesn’t want to play.

It sounds to me like the short story is people that live there dont want to fork over extra money to keep getting water. Scottsdale had been helping to subsidize but no longer is willing to help. Im sorry but change is the only constant, if you live remotely and dont have your own private access to a life-necessity which you have been getting a screaming deal on the whole time you've lived there, you should be preparing for the inevitable day when prices go up.

I’ve never liked Scottsdale. The people drive like assholes and when I did pest control out there I was always treated like shit. Accept for a very small select few. One tipped me $100 every time, the other guy would always talk with me about starting my own business, even offering to back me as an investor.

Verde or Salt or? Numbers are pretty nuts right now. Total SRP reservoir system was at 71% capacity this time last year. Currently at 94% after opening the flood gates last week. Watch out for flooding.

It’s just life. I used to want to have that life, big fancy house, lots of cars…as I’ve matured I’m like fuck all that, give me land away from people and just what I need…which is a shop house with a 40x40 shop and a 20x40 house attached

Same. But dont get me wrong I still want a nice house and allot of cars. But all my wants are all old vehicles I want to fix up into nice rides. I do need a bigger shop and some more land. But that means I need to move out of the Country Club and out of the house I love.
