Is it just me or is Deegan the splitting image of his Dad? Daddy Deegan was a pro-shit talker too. Feel real bad for Plessinger. Hope he holds on to the speed and motivation for the next race. The amount of seconds the few hold over the many is becoming staggering. The 450's lapped up to 8th? And Lawrence needs to be forced to a 450. It's just not fun anymore.

As a racer, Deegan really wasn't worth a shit honestly....1 podium, 1 win (when he "ghost rode" his bike over the finish line).

He made a lot of noise as one.of MX/SX bad boys and helped start Metal Mulisha and sold a bunch of T shirts.

    Just my opinion....

As a dad he's doing it right. If your kids not a scholar then get him/her into sports. I remember the whole MM / Pastrana controversy where they talked smack about baby faced Pastrana but he did race them into the ground and destroyed them in free riding.

Yeah...most of that was Deegan from memory. He didn't like the clean cut kid who was polite and fast. He had to try to talk him down because he couldn't beat him in a race....or most X-Games if memory serves correct....MM took a lot of silver and bronze

Pretty sure MM took gold in LA with his historical back to back flips.

Edit. Remember watching this as a kid.

They both have the same stupid laugh lol. But I think in some ways they are very different. But they came from 2 different places. Brian just wasn't good enough to get a top tier ride, whether he admits it or not. But he still found a way to make a living by grinding. So I give him props. But he paved a different way for his son to enter the sport and Haiden is coming from a very different spot than his dad was.

The best part of it all is Deegan and MM were against the whole racing scene because of the "politics" of it all, the unfair advantages and the kids that toe'd the corporate line to be on the best teams/equipment. The guy made it his whole identity to be the privateer who was "cooler" than the polo shirt-wearing racer guys. And then he went and groomed his son to be the exact thing that he was so against. It was always funny to me, from that perspective. I certainly don't mind him giving his son every advantage from a young age. And overall he seems to have raised him to at least be a half decent kid. So not hating or anything. But it's hard not to laugh at someone who became known for trying to call out the MX industry racers as corporate robots and then his son is now the ultimate example of that very thing. Like Pastrana said, Deegan was the real sell-out lol. And for the record I always liked Brian and I like Haiden but just making conversation.

It’s strange that Pastrana and Deegan are friends now. Maybe Travis hit his head so many times that he forgot how much of a jerk Brian was? :)

Nah, we.just used the initials differently. Anymore I'd rather watch guys throw heel clickers, Hart Attacks, Indian airs and that kinda stuff then back flips and front flips...BMX has gone.similar to where everything is a backflip/tailwhip variant...

Same. I lived in Lake Tahoe for 5 years during the snowboarding haydays. Everything was style until it was backflip, double, triple. Same with 360, 720, etc. Now when I watch x-games I have no idea what's going on.

You guys are spot on. I was way into BMX and Dirt Jumping back in the day and that was when style was king. Once everything became a flip variation, it just has no soul to it. Props to the guys for pulling those current flip tricks but it's just not that great to watch, in my opinion. 90's were simpler times, I suppose lol. Kids now probably watch those old videos of those guys and think it sucks, so I guess it's no different. Just roles reversed lol.

What do you all think about Triumph getting into MX in 2024? Do they have an actual bike yet?

I think adding another OEM is great. The bike for sure exists. They have a testing grounds that they purchased somewhere on the FL/GA border and they've been testing the bikes. If they plan on racing 250s in '24 there would need to be some sort of production bike ready to go. I guess they could use the 1 year prototype rule that Yamaha used with the YZM400 but I don't even know if that rule exists still or if it was changed. But that would allow them to race a prototype w/o production units, for a year. Given the Team staff is from the older Rockstar Suz -> Husky team, a lot of rumor that some guys that came through that program could end up racing for those guys. So who knows.

Great for the sport, but I don't think I'll own one. IDK I sure love my neighbors beta 300.

I think they had four Free Style Moto guys doing their thing Just before last weeks event.
RC mentioned a few of the names & they just showed a quick look of the action.

Ya it's tough to just hop into the MX industry with a serious entry. I will hold my judgement until I see the bike, but there is nothing that excites me about owning one, at the moment either. But they do have a lot of good people developing the bike and running the Team. So hopefully it's successful for them.

Those Beta 300s do look cool. Is that the newer MX 2stroke, I assume? I honestly don't know much about that brand but I saw some tests of the 300 2 stroke and it seems pretty cool.
