I check here every day just to see if yesterday's parking met the criteria.

And some people try to pull a U in the parking lane to park on the other side. just because you have a tiny tin can car doesn't mean that's ok

    Haha.justice!

Long ago I was a building maintainence guy in college. One building seemed a breeding ground for assholes in general, there was one king asshole that stood out. Mouthed off to a couple of my coworkers before. One of my buddies knew his car (nothing special, some POS Ford Escort) and said "I'd key the car but wouldn't want to lower the value of my key".

A while later I pull into the parking lot and see the aforementioned POS car. Another car was parked within about 5 inches of the driver's door and was a new vehicle. At the time I was driving the 1977 Chevy Malibu I inherited when my grandfather got a new vehicle..18 years old and looked twice that age, faded paint, rot holes, worth $300 because it (barely) moved on its own power. The light bulb goes off in my skull and I proceed to pull the driver's side of my car about 3 inches from his passenger door..our side mirrors would have touched if my Malibu wasn't such a boat. I smoothly slid my ass across the bench seat and got out my passenger side door.

A little bit later I happen to see the guy packing up at his desk for the night. I find my coworkers and call them to our office. I see the guy walk out the rear building door and wave them over to the rear windows that could not be seen into from outside. We all started grinning as he walked out to the car and went for the driver's side, saw the new car parked close, and then to the passenger side only to see my tank parked closer. He looked bewildered.

After a minute, Captain Jackhole decides to crawl into his car from the hatchback. A tough task for a grown adult especially one wearing a nice suit. Our giggling exploded into gales of laughter as he tried to get over the back of the front seat and fell forward.

He starts the car, carefully gets out of the spot without nerfing either of the neighbors. The payoff is when he cleared the spot, got out and starts running around his war machine looking for door dings with his hair all messed up from the crawl.

Without looking it up, see who knows this quote "we should never lose our love for pranks. Creative crime is not only good for the soul; in this day and age, it's necessary". Says it all. He may or may not have identified the other car but I am pretty sure he never spotted the junker as mine.

thing that chafes me about most HDs is the lack of large vehicle parking when they are drawing in contractors with full size trucks and box trucks

I'll bite. Here in San Diego we have a name for those who flood in hoards to our quiet beach town during the summer... We call them "Zonies". You can usually pick them out by their lack of driving awareness, respect and the infamous Arizona license plate. The vehicular accident report is off the charts come summer time due to the Zonie infestation. Don't get me started on the insurance rates...

    Screenshot_20230321_141433_Chrome.jpg

Ask any local about the "Zonie" and they'll have a handful of harrowing tales driving down the 8 west around summer time.

    nep49zowbq851.jpg

Don't get me started on how those Arizona registered drivers park....
