I can confirm that here in California the average parking space is at least a foot narrower than spaces elsewhere in the country.

Even if the parking lot is in the middle of fucking nowhere and space is not at a premium.

The other problem you run into is less space between the lanes of parking spots means that you don’t have as much room to back out of your parking space if two longer vehicles are parked butt to butt.

I wish they still made the regular cab because I find that my access cab is almost too long for the bay area, but not too long that I can’t manage.

There are still some absolute psychopaths who insist on driving four-door pick ups with long beds, lifts, and fully extended towing mirrors around here.

I had a 2nd gen regular cab in Kauai and I used to go to Costco, park away from everybody, and when I came back I would be boxed in by industrial white Nissan Rogue rentals.

And all you can do is play tag with the doors, because the rental companies don’t give a shit if you bring the car back dented and filled with sand.

I’ve always wondered why the fuck anybody would fly all the way to Kauai for their vacation and then go to the Costco.

 

Booo.. when we go there we go for weeks at a time and go to the Safeway to get food so we aren’t eating out every night.. so we are kind of those people talk about. Lol

Former coworker of mine used to talk about why he liked to vacation in Hawaii.

"Everyone speaks English and drives on the right. I get off the plane, pick up my rental car, drive to Costco to get food and beer, drive to my condo to unpack then drive to the beach and relax."
