Well it sprayed out of the oil pan onto the floor. Skid plate sucks but I managed and I cant read the damn long ass dip stick with new oil on it. :(

Other then that I did my first oil change at 1500 miles on my new truck.

why’d you do that? Did your dealer specifically tell you that? My dealer said bring mine back in at 5k miles for tire rotation, fluid top off(if needed) and an inspection and back in at 10k miles for first oil change.

Found like you I needed a bucket to catch oil instead of the normal catch pan. I blew out everywhere the first time. Lesson learned.

I've done many of oil changes on Tacoma's. The 2nd gen makes a big mess as well. Changed the oil in my '21 today and despite my best measures still got oil on the floor draining the oil...

If anything was wrong it should be covered under warranty anyways.

Take a bright light and shine it into the pan. You’ll see the shavings. Did mine at 200 miles and when the sunlight hit the pan you can see the glitters.

The real reason why I run a fumoto valve: I can control the stream so that it doesn't ricochet like the piss after last call at the dive bar.

Nice and neat, and the wife doesn't complain about the seat.

Kind of like staring at a fire hose waiting for someone to turn on the hydrant.

once i brake it loose i use my finger and unscrew it and let it fall into the catch bucket and get it out when i am funneling it into old bleach bottles.
