    Hey all I’m Sam
Just got my first Tacoma private sale with so much aftermarket stuff I don’t even know where to begin

I’m hoping to trade the bumper for a little more low profile hybrid and I need help identifying what parts of this lift I can remove with no consequences lol

    Anyway good to be here!

That's doable, but not as easy or good as by computer. Loose a lot of detail in photos, many of which will be useful answers to your upcoming questions.

    Yeah.
Congrats, and welcome to TW! That front bumper is an ARB, probably one of the best you can get. It is a little bulky, but it is a quality bumper.

    It’s definitely a beast!
Very heavy though and I’m doing some things to improve fuel economy and make it just a little bit more friendly for every day driving. Yes, I’m downgrading, hopefully not too much but it’s true

I hope so! I just want something a little lighter and more low profile
I also want to remove part of this lift which is really unnecessary for only 32” OD tires

Edit: I’ll worry about lift stuff in another post

I agree. Tacomas are smaller trucks that don’t really need huge plate bumpers. Tube bumpers and hybrids are better in my opinion. But arb is know for having a huge waiting list to even order so yes it’ll get bought quick. Also the best part to remove of your lift (if it is there) would be spacers either body or on top of the shocks/under the leafs. They are usually the cheaper option for a lift and don’t provide a better ride.

    Thank you for the encouragement!
I do see some billet spacers under the shocks/leafs. Looks like only about 1.5” on front and back. Could I remove those without affecting steering, gears, etc? How much work goes into this kind of operation?

I mean I don’t think it would be too intense it’s not like trying to push out ball joints or put a spring on a shock but you are gonna probably have to get the truck in the air and unbolt the top of the shock tower and unbolt the leafs to take out the blocks. Spacers arent bad for suspension (to a degree) but they don’t improve ride or anything so it’s up to you if you want to take them out. Good luck and congrats on the truck

Ps I’m not a professional by any means so consult others as well haha

    Yeah.
Looks like it's got Bilsteins in the front, with either a spacer on top of the coilover or a longer and stiffer spring. If it's a spacer, pretty easy to eliminate. Either way, once you swap out bumpers you may find you need a lighter spring on the front - that bumper is very heavy, so the previous owner may have put stiff springs on.
