I was supercharged, made for easy driving in the mountains. I never did a pulley or tuning on that one.

I'm still undecided on my current Tacoma. Rebuild and supercharge the 3.4l and a manual swap or 2UZ and stay auto swap. The longer I think about it the more I prefer the manual route. The 2UZ brings less reliable swap functions not wanted in a truck that goes out of reasonable communication range.

If you didn't claim any injury on scene of the initial crash, make sure to follow up and report it to the officer that took the report.

I'm guessing the at fault driver got a ticket for Careless Driving (at least), but there are enhancers to that charge for causing bodily injury. (I.E. Pain/Cuts/Scrapes)

It's public park repair season. Already in full swing with 4 door replacements from winter vandalism and stuck/rusty locks.
Parks guys are humping it right now to get the water turned on and fix all the leaks from frozen pipes. It's fun to watch them activate the systems and see the floors flooded.

@thefatkid and others - any body shop recommendations that know modern cars made of plastic and electronics? The insurance company is initially thinking the Rav4 Prime won’t be totaled, but since it’s a 2023 and Toyota has not even released a parts catalog to the public, I don’t want to just have a generic “good old Bobby’s body shop” start the process and end up realizing after the job starts that they won’t be able to fix it and we’re stuck without a car for 9+ months.

Apparently there are no more Toyota Certified Collision centers - Pederson in Ft Collins shut theirs down a year ago.

Yes, dealers quickly found out in the late 90s that body shops did not fit the profit profile they were looking for. Large volume of space needed for low profit levels.

I don't know of any good body shops as the quality level of the body tech varies more than in a service department. The really good body tech leave for better pay than insurance companies offer, i.e. non collision specialty shops.

A buddy of mine just had his 2019 WRX sorted out from hit-and-run damage by a body shop here in Colorado Springs. They were incredibly thorough, and also went out of their way to help him get what was due from the offending driver's insurance.

I know it's a long way out of your way, but I can get the name of the shop if it sounds worth the trip.

Sure. I’ll gladly take any recommendations! I’m only like 80% happy with the body shop I took my Tacoma to a while back, so a better shop is desired.

I was in a small hit and run down in springs last year. honestly the damage was pretty minimal, but i took it to a gerber collision and glass near i25 and garden of the gods. the repair went well, i can't tell there was any damage, but it wasn't bad to begin with. i dont think they needed to order any panels and it took about 5-6 days after i dropped it off.

    pics of the damage below.

Mark's Collision and Classics. The website isn't much to look at... http://wwwmarkscollisionandclassicscom.godaddysites.com/

It's a classic/custom's shop, which doesn't perfectly fit the "up to date with new cars" criteria you set, but like I said... they treated my buddy and his 2019 WRX right, and he's very particular about his cars.

Generally speaking, I'd expect classic/customs shops to take a lot more car and pride in their work than a shop that deals primarily in hail damage and fender-bender claims.

I got a better look at the tow yard today. It’s going to need a lot of sheet metal work - inner fender liners, front piece in front of the radiator, and more that I couldn’t get hood photos of way down low behind where the crash beam mounts.

I had my 2020 Ranger fixed through Caliber Collision in Longmont, All their repairs hold a lifetime warranty if there are ever any issues that popup. They were pretty good to work with.

I might be interested in the spacers if your going to sell them. What brand are they?
