The three most common Toyota Tacoma problems likely translate to it’s low reliability scores. RepairPal tells us these three issues are:
    • Toyota recall for lower ball joint issues – reported by 278 owners
    • Automatic transmission may not shift correctly at high mileages – reported by 254 owners
    • Amber running/parking lights melted, cracked, and burned the lens directly in front of them – reported by 202 owners

Lower ball joints failure? Look, I am here a lot, but I can't remember ever seeing a thread here in the 3rd gen section about LBJ failures. I'm sure there must be some given the number of third gens sold, but I have never, ever seen anyone warn a prospective buyer about LBJ's and checking them.

Someone post up the recall on it because I missed it.

I've had a 2 of 3 friends / family who had low mileage stock 2nd gen Tacoma's that needed the lower ball joints to be repaired. Just used their trucks to drive on paved and graveled roads, no off-roading. Not sure if continued to 3rd gen.

Same here. This article was paid for by all the other truck manufactures as they cannot beat Toyota. Give it another 5 year, 10 years, 20 years and the truth will be evident.

    T100 is the most reliable.

The only reason you don’t see more of them on the road is because they didn’t make that many.

If you look at the different articles about which truck is the most reliable or best or whatever measurement you like, you'll find each truck is better than the rest in one article or another. Surely reeks of payout. Shitbiscuit always puts down the Tacoma. It isn't techy enough for them. They don't judge on reliability. They judge on stuff like highest hp numbers or the newest gimmick available regardless of what the truck can actually do or how well it does it. Their reviews have less value than used toilet paper.

    Clickbait 101:
Take something with a well-know attribute and just headline the opposite. Everyone knows that Tacoma’s are actually reliable, so just run a headline how unreliable they are. And, of course when you click, you just invited 10,000 cookies and probably inadvertently signed up for a credit card…

Which is why I never, ever read Baitbiscuit.
