I’m curious how you saw her. Did you get pulled over from the front?

 

As far as I know you are required to have one mirror on the left outside and one either center inside or right outside .

 

Correct, coming from beat to crap wheelers they would nail me for this everytime haha.

 

Without the submarine grade periscope protruding out of the top of my truck I would have never seen her. Highly recommend this mod to anyone who is considering committing the dangerous crime of putting something in the bed of their truck

I would think it’s not against the RCW although I guess it’s a gray area. They way I read it…stickers should be a primary offense to get stopped if a RTT is. EDIT: My friend who is a state trooper said it’s fine to block the back glass if you have side mirrors.

 

There's a word there that separates everything. Upon. The rtt isn't "upon" the window so no law broken. If you got a ticket it'd be easy to get out of. Just another ignorant officer among many

 

Truth…that’s what I was thinking too. According to a SP buddy if side mirrors installed then it was an invalid stop unless there was another cause for the stop

I have a diamondback cover with the short front runner bars. The top of my tent sits at my roofline but in my rear view I can still see the car that’s directly behind me, even enough to see cop lights on top. I have a 2” lift and 31s so I’m not sitting that high, I also got rid of most of my rake. The tents in storage until May so I can’t go double check what I remember but I doubt you have a fully obstructed view.

I also got an anytime camera kit for the front camera but it allows me to run either camera while I’m driving. I know people that run their front camera at all times. I would have definitely lied and said I always run my back camera while I’m driving if they accused me of that.

 

What about vans that don’t have back windows.. this is an invalid argument. Don’t put fig newtons stickers on any of your windows that obscure your view.. beyond that. Good to go. In addition to that didn't Washington just pass the no pull overs for equipment thing or this a king county only deal? I was pretty sure it was Washington wide police couldn’t pull you over anymore for expired tabs, broken tail lights or any other equipment issue.

Just a little profiling going on. She just wanted a closer look and used the RTT as an excuse.

 

I used to have a heavy foot. The Taco has me just enjoying the drive. If that passes, I'll be saying good fucking bye to RTA fees at least on the Taco and motorcycle.

Does anyone have Baja Designs Squadrons with a spread optic in yellow that would be available to meet in Kirkland in the next day or two? We would be removing that spread optic and placing it in the new Baja SAE v2 units for a comparison post. Afterwards returning it and reinstalling it into your lights of course. This will be exceptionally helpful to the Tacoma community and posted in the SAE fog thread.
