Dammit, I should have charged for the air compressor usage. :annoyed:
Drat! I wasn't counting time or CFM!

    Pfft air compressor is cheap!

But when running the CNC setup, it shows live voltage monitoring as it's cutting.

It's being measured as the torch height controller adjusts to maintain the programmed cut height from the surface being cut.

Yeah it's probably the least common weather thing to happen around here, don't think I've ever heard of one here before.

    Huh?

I wasn't talking about power consumption, talking about the tools themselves :luvya:

This is America we measure in horsepower. None of that kilowatt bullshit :luvya:

It measures voltage for torch height adjustment, not for figuring out cost per cut.

I'd need separate monitoring for that at the plug.

Buddy locally told me to make up for it by charging cost x 1.5 for material. Then add labor to pay myself

Finding out power consumption would yield me a good "cost per inch" cut. And to get really specific, figure out how many pierces per electrode/tip. That I've found to be about 500 with varying thicknesses included.

But like I said, since I don't have power consumption figured out, I've narrowed it down to a healthy per square foot charge.

I honestly don't really understand how that conversion works. Because horsepower is a function of torque and rotation speed... Yeah I think we could also measure it over time. Actually I'm pretty sure NASCAR already does this and uses a measurement similar to gauge reliability on the 7000 lb roller dynos

There are electrical conversions to relate Torque to Power... involves magnetic shit since it's all dynamo-integrated with like flux densities and stuff. I'm pretty sure the mechanical HP number is the one that gets arbitrarily concocted down the line from the fundamental work+induction equations

BRITISH! Absolutely not, the tea drinkers were sent back to their sad little island nation, let them have their units.

We need a new more American unit of measure, how about Assault Rifles per Bald Eagle

I know on a dynomometer if your engine isnt a weak little shit the HP and Torque numbers cross at 520 usually. Something about that being a constant
