been a lurker for awhile and usually you guys have solved every problem but this is one i wasn’t able to find in the way i’m thinking.

i have a key fob and then i have a remote start fob.

i’ve seen all the options for swapping key fob guts into various housings.

i’ve also seen someone on here who makes a three button key that people then have programmed.

but has anyone created (i assume 3d print) a new housing that can accept the guts from the key fob on one side and the starter on the back side ?

had a hard time searching it because any search with the words “remote start” included has been SEO/SEM’d into oblivion.

    Welcome!
you might include which style key/fob you have, that'll help narrow it down.

Yea I’m confused is your truck push button start or key start? If it’s push button start and you have that little key stuck in the side of the fob then MESO makes a fob you can switch over too. If you have a key start I think your pretty much stuck with what you have.

yeah it’s push button but i also have the separate remote for starting the truck. i know if the meso one. i’m basically looking for the miso one, but that also integrates the remote starter into it

Gotcha I have an after market N2 remote starter that works on my original key fob so all I did was switch the guts out to a MESO one and hung the little key on the side. MESO now makes a new one that incorporates the little key. Didn’t realize Toyota stuck you with 2 fobs to do one job very strange. My 19 didn’t come with remote start so it was easy for me. Are you sure it’s a Toyota remote start since N2 works with the original makes me wonder what you have. You could always pull it out and put a new one in that uses just one fob.

first picture is what my remote starter button looks like. second is my key fob.

my dealer was a nightmare so if there was something they could have done to make it better for me i’m sure they didn’t.

Did you try using your OE fob?
My dealer installed remote start (wish I would have went N2) abs that fob looks identical except for the logo. My OE remote works too, but still need the 3 please hold method.

Second this. I have a remote start as well that uses the 3 push of the lock button method. No need for another remote. Took a couple tries to get the timing down

Timing is definitely different, 1 wait 2 wait 3 wait 4 hold. I usually don’t need the hold, just 4 times in a row with a second in between, my GF’s 4R works the same way.

Assuming your OEM key can Remote start (as others have mentioned, usually x3 lock and should start the car). The only reason to use the non-OEM remote is that they are long range, some 1,800ft-3,500ft range.

A while back I use to have a 2-way remote and could easily start a car from the office building without being in line of sight of the car. [beats the heck out of monthly\yearly fees for Cellular based setups that may or may not have receptions in certain places]

man you don’t know how excited i was that maybe it was the oem x3.

i think i tried it 15 times just hoping it would work but no dice.

the oem key fob won’t start it.
