Silver Lake Dunes 2023

Putting the feelers out for another trip to the Dunes and other areas in Michigan.
I will post more particulars about the requirements for wheeling in Michigan...permits...ect.
Thinking about the first part of August.
When I get to my laptop I'll attach some links for permits and faqs for Silver Lake and the areas.

We went out to Silver Lake Dunes from NY a few times 20 years ago with our 250R three wheelers and had an awesome time. My only regret is we didn't explore the trail system out there at all. I'd love to do a few days with the truck and aa few with the quad or maybe dig my old 250R out of storage.

I feel a little embarrassed, live less than 2 hours away and have never been there. I’m more of a forest road/ camping/trout fishing kinda guy. Glad everyone is enjoying this beautiful place.

You will need ORV Permits and a Non-Resident Passport all available through the Michigan DNR. Links to follow.
Just waiting to confirm some dates and we will start the process!!

Dood...from one glamper to the next...no shortage of good spots in the area...carwashes...pizza joints and liquor marts.

Lets not forget a valid Passport or enhanced DL.
Proof of vaccination is a dwindling thing but still may be required for personal travel...I will confirm later.

I might do this, then trip down to Holland

 

I'll do this...then hug the shore...hit the Bear Lake Tavern in North Muskegon for unreal eats and then down to Marcellius for some hillbilly antics at a buddies.
