Because it was needed in the first place. That’s bad, not good. Accountability is something that needs review. Just because the FAA exists doesn’t mean it always does the job properly. That’s not to say it isn’t trying but agencies tend to get complacent and overly trusting of data supplied by those they’re supposed to be monitoring. Maybe I’m being to harsh but you don’t fix problems by assuming they don’t exist. Several hundred died because FAA people trusted Boeing rather than grilling them.
The FAA called for BO to be transparent regarding this investigation but so far not a shred of information, only the false claim by BO that the FAA was causing the restriction of information. BO has claimed a hardware rich environment but all signs point to the opposite with not enough funding to find the limits of the hardware and correct weaknesses. If that’s the case then the FAA has the duty to force BO into proving the cause, it’s correction and why it was missed. The same company is supplying the be-4 engine which IS orbital.

They shouldn’t be playing hardball with Spacex and softball with Boeing and Blue Origin. It should be hardball across the board because that’s the job.

I agree but to an organization like BO, I think the failure is compounded exponentially.

A 22-23 year old rocket company that hasn't achieved orbit yet has blown up their novelty rocket that took well over a decade to develop. It's not like they iterate anything?

Terran 1 launch success, meco, and stage separation but had an anomaly on stage 2, engine failed to ignite.

Liked, not for the failure but for the info. I lost track oof this after the multiple delays. It’s too bad but I’m sure they got a lot of good data.

And the booster did it’s job! Encouraging :rocket:
