I am likely to get a job at Home Depot at some point this year, but I am incredibly hestitant to work for any large corporation after my experiences at the car dealership detail shop during my employment there from September 2018 to July 2019; I liked most my supervisors and coworkers, but there were too many rules and most of my coworkers were guys in their teens and early 20s who were immature and would occasionally get into fights on the floor. I started working there in September 2018, and a lot of people came after me only to leave in a matter of weeks. Two different guys just left without a word and never came back.

I was able to tolerate the lack of air-conditioning in the detail shop, and dickish behavior from both coworkers and supervisors, but the biggest thing that got to me was that I got paid by the vehicle rather than by the hour. The second issue was that Saturdays were mandatory for part-time workers like myself, and I got into an argument with the head of the detail shop because I thought he was working me to death and he thought I requested too many Saturdays off. In the winter and early spring, working Saturdays in itself did not bother me. What pissed me off was that I had to work from 7:50am to 5pm, and if I got particularly big jobs or nobody was buying cars, then I didn't make any money whatsoever; I was lucky if I cleared $100 for 9 hours of labor-intensive work, and felt like my Saturdays were being stolen from me. We also didn't get paid for stuff like cleaning up the shop, and coming from a bar where I got paid ten bucks an hour regardless of what task I was doing, this was a particularly tough pill to swallow.

One time, this Ford Escape came in near the end of my shift and I was tired. I fudged while cleaning one of the windows, and the salesperson who'd sold that vehicle bitched out my boss. My boss confronted me a day or two later and said he had a bone to pick with me (his exact words). He bitched me out about not smudging the window, but instead of talking about how I could do better, it was all about how it made him look bad and nothing more.

I had been trying since January or February 2019 to get an entry-level job at an HVAC contractor; I interviewed with two different companies, and the guy who was supposed to interview me for the third died in a car accident the weekend before my interview. In mid-June 2019, I couldn't take it anymore, and gave my two weeks' notice; I lied and told my boss that I'd secured an apprentice job at an HVAC contractor, and my last day was June 30th. We had to put our year-old Corgi/Labrador mix to sleep due to a congenital kidney disease two days later, and I hunted for a permanent job but ended up doing to DoorDash for the rest of the summer to keep myself out of the poor house. The president and CEO of my current employer (where my dad is one of four vice presidents), NAVMAR Applied Sciences, was aware of my struggle to find a job and suggested to my dad that they hire me. By early September 2019, I had a job at NAVMAR and have been here ever since.

One major deciding factor in ultimately quitting the detail shop was that my boss jawboned me into working on a day that I didn't agree to work. I had said I'd work one day, but he marked it on the calendar for another day because a lot of the other detailers were set to be on vacation; I am also 99% sure that the dealership shorted me about $150-$200 on my final paycheck.

Home Depot is a much better place to work, especially since their stores are air-conditioned and you get like $15 per hour to start even if it's a slow day and there isn't much to do; I have been at NAVMAR for about 3½ years, and I presently make $18 per hour. I have a 401K and paid vacations, but they can only afford to have me work part-time at the moment, which is why Home Depot ended up on the table. First and foremost, I am worried about the stress that working two different jobs would cause. Second of all, Puck was incredibly flexible about working weekends. In the cooler months, I worked Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. During "car show season", I would either go to a car show in the morning and work in the afternoon or evening, or work in the morning and go to a car show in the afternoon; I worked so many hours at Puck that my boss was willing to give me time off pretty much whenever I wanted.

At NAVMAR, I don't work weekends at all (nobody does); I do not mind working some weekends, but working entire Saturdays weekend after weekend drove me to the brink of insanity. I am afraid that the higher-ups at Home Depot will be unreasonable about this.

I wanted to bang her, but the whole bathroom thing isn't much of a turn-on for me; I've only ever had sex in a bed...

I was not the least bit worried about any sexual assault charges. This would have been 100% consensual. However, consensual or not, sex in a public place is against the law. That's the biggest problem I had with it, plus a public bathroom (even without the whole COVID thing) is just fucking disgusting; Amanda is crazy enough for me, but not mentally (just in the bedroom :D). She is about the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. Any scenario like what happened is a moot point now because Amanda and I are in a serious relationship. She's moving down to Bucks County in just over a week, and I will no longer have to drive up to Jersey to see her!

Nobody said anything about assaulting a woman. Trust me...she was ready and willing for anything Charlie had to toss her way.

She’s obviously not all there mentally.
I wouldn’t be caught anywhere alone with her.
And of all places a bathroom stall.

It doesn’t take anything but a few words to wreck a guys life forever.
No thanks. Not once you’ve shown me you are “psychopathic” as Charlie’s put it.
    Pass, avoid at all cost.

With the text messages she sent him...kinda hard to prove that. I get it though. Crazy is best avoided.

Oh, I see what you mean by “punched it”.
    Went right over my head.
Nahh, I’m all good. I wouldn’t want to risk having a kid and be stuck with her forever.

    Psychotic, not psychopathic...

There is a HUGE difference! Being a psychopath/sociopath means that one has no conscience and is incapable of feeling empathy. This girl just has poorly managed bipolar disorder and is mentally unstable.

    Neither could my mom.
    And yet, Here I am:eek:

Unless there was a medical procedure involved to specifically take care of that issue, I don’t trust it.

Yeah, she sent full nude pictures, videos of her pleasuring herself, and a video of on her hands and knees in a leather dog collar; I've got no problem whatsoever with kinky, but I've got a problem with crazy and believe that sexual activities should be kept behind closed doors. I would be worried that she ends up sending pictures to some deranged pervert, meets up with them (she's bisexual and into both men and women), and is never seen again. I'm a nice guy, but some people have nefarious intentions.

There was a medical procedure due to serious health issues, certain parts were removed, and she most certainly cannot get pregnant...

Amanda has a driver's license and has never even been pulled over in the 12+years since she's been driving, but she presently does not own a car and is saving up to buy one; I took her to an OBGYN appointment earliest this month and met her gynecologist, so I know the story is true.

Amanda has agreed to tell the whole story, but I'll let her do that; @Stitchgirl90 is an amazing woman, considering what she went through prior to us dating!

Sounds like she’s a good driver.
I’ve been pulled over 2x in 25 years that was my own fault.
Got 1 ticket for no proof of insurance, it was dropped once I faxed a copy.
I’ve dealt with law enough for other reason, more than a few times. I’m definitely luck, AFAIK my record is clean. (I think I told that story once on here.)

I asked @ColoradoTJ about this and he says it's automated software or something that can't be changed. Luckily, I believe it has been more than 30 days; Amanda says she will post as soon as she gets home...

Everything can be changed. Just a matter of effort, or in this case rewriting a whole codebase
