I had the exact same issue last month
the tech put new ends on the cables outside
then put a work order in to have the cable from the pole to the house replaced in the the spring
no issues since the ends replaced

 

Great.

It’s a trainee with her boss coming.
This is going to be interesting.

Changed a lot of connectors and cable from pole to house..

She was short.
Ear hardware.
Slim facial features.
Spoke directly.
Spoke confidently.
Walked confidently.
Had a bit if an attitude.
Talked constantly to the new guy explaining in detail reasons what for etc.
Little bossy? Well she was the boss. Nothing to make me say mmmmmmmm.

New guy did the ladder climbing and hookup. His first cable run.
She got the ladder off the truck. You knew she could do everything.

Only thing is she was wearing too many outside clothes so I……. Nevermind….

They did good.
Now to see if it’s stable now….

 

Well after 30 some years the cable just got degenerated. So it had lots of noise. The girl knew what she was going to do before she even got to the house. Just did a double check before she started in.

 

Sounds about right. Old cable eventually degrades. Hope yours works now. Mine would take about 4 miles of new cable plowed in to work. Talked to the tech today.

I wonder how much a salesman walking by will offer for Dad's old truck Tuesday morning, since I'm taking it in for 30,000 mile service at 8 a.m. (the early hours when they walk around...) I put about 9k on it in the past year and a half since buying it from the estate. I could sell him the original radio and pair of door speakers...
