Bison is a decent choice. I have had the meat before and it smokes up really well. Trouble is there is no bison here in this area. I could always mail order.

Happy Friday everyone. Today is the wife's birthday. We are going out to dinner tonight for Mexican. I will have to be super rigid with what I eat today.
Supposed to be rainy today and tomorrow.
I normally do not shop on Saturdays but tomorrow is some type of special outdoor BBQ event at ACE hardware tomorrow. I will visit a new ACE that just opened near me. I could use a new grill brush but I doubt that I will buy one. That is why it is called shopping and not buying.

Nope, just pull up a chair and join in. We have had several youngsters hanging out in here and it adds a bit of youth to the porch .

We have a local place here. Carolina Bison. I especially like the ribeye and the roast, but we mostly use the ground.

Pulled my wife's Honda into the garage as the forecast called for strong winds and hail. I didn't get a drop of water!

Since I now have the Redarc Brake Controller and the Anytime Camera installed time to turn my attention to a partial rear seat delete.

My Dometic DZ75 is handy when I go shopping. Freezer and Fridge, so I can hit stores early (no people, great time to do my shopping) but still get errands done. Trying to figure out the lightest platform and slide out to make it easier to load/unload (no bending over). Slide out, and the "storage drawer" fully slides out, giving access to the toolbox. This would also give a place to mount pancake lithium batteries DC isolator. Fun mental games, my son and I are pretty tall (6'3" and 6'5"), so having the cooler up high when it slides outs are acceptable. The folded seat takes up much space, so remove and store it in the shop.

Part of the challenge is I need slides under the cooler, as the width matches the door opening. So traditional side rails won't work in my case. Heavy-duty slides are not cheap, but I still want to keep the small seat behind the driver. Lots of thought processes that trade-off for leg space (knees apart, that extra 2" of hip space means a difference to a tall person, but a short person wouldn't notice). Volunteer at bike rides (SAG WAGON) so riders who have had mechanical failures or are fatigued get a ride back to the next rest stop. Often I'll have a buddy riding with me, so that seat is needed for cyclists.

Tacoma Tetris! Small spaces for recovery straps and tools that are handy when needed. The bonus is everything is out of sight, just a big cooler back there.

Happy Friday all, although I usually don’t know or care what day it is. Another couple of days of sunshine here before the rain and snow return next week. The ski resorts are reporting 58 plus feet of snow this season with more to come. Most will be operating through May. At least one plans skiing through July. We actually have too much of a good thing.
I like to fly fish the high mountain lakes and streams but probably won’t be able to get to them until July or August.
Pretty much no real plans for the next couple days. Just putter around the garage, build a new shelf for wifey, read some books and grill the last piece of King salmon I caught last year.

Has anyone had any experience with portable jump batteries? Something to have *just in case* when out in the sticks?

As in a jump box? Worth the $50-100. I've used mine several times. Only thing you need to remember to do is charge them occasionally.
